Is it a 924? I had the pearl white fella and that was a 924 but this one might have had a different designation. Anyway, check it out. Alphonso Ibby

No contact from DHL all day. As I leave work I get a notification saying guitar delivered and signed for by one of my family. This is impossible as no-one was at home. Box looks like it's been kicked, too. I honestly felt like pulling a stunt and emailing Thomann tomorrow saying nothing had been delivered, such is my ire! Why even bother submitting redirects wgen they're a)ignored, and b) refused?

Them, the Shaftesbury '51 P look-a-like, and an Avon EB0 were the ones kicking around when I was a brat. In fact, I remember EB0s more than anything from that period. If you had an Antoria Jazz or an Ibby Ricky, you had it made!

Update from Thomann this morning. They got another communication from DHL. DHL say they're delivering to my home address, despite the second redirect instruction to have it delivered to my work's address. The girl I'm dealing with at Thomann is great, and is as much frustrated as I am. We've both agreed to wait until the courier van is loaded and the package is updated on the system this morning.

Classical Composer Reacts to Close To the Edge (Yes)
NikNik replied to pfretrock's topic in General Discussion
Minuano......I have not heard that in years. A track that I occasionally heard at a friend's house during a rather difficult period of my life and it calmed me down no end. Uplifting, and Metheny's playing is angelic. -
Classical Composer Reacts to Close To the Edge (Yes)

I can still remember the afternoon I put that LP on my record deck.....and marvelled at what came out of the speakers. -
I think that if Thomann weren't so huge, this issue would take longer to rectify, if at all. DHL cannot afford to fosters off Thomann. One mail from DHL says delivery tomorrow (now correctly altered to my work's address) whilst a second, from their 'executive desk' says delivery expect 20th at the latest. I'd love to know what Thomann are saying to them.

So, yesterday I got another email from DH Hell, apologising for the delay. They said they could now deliver either to my home address or another address of my choice. Playing safe, I cleared it with my work and forwarded the details on to DHL. Today I got an email from Thomann, saying that DHL were delivering guitar to my home address tomorrow!! I forwarded them the correspondence showing the request for guitar to be delivered to my work. Thomann respond with words to the effect of 'Let's hope they don't fk it up!' Then, a couple of hours ago, I typed the tracking number into the DHL site. Number shows guitar being delivered tomorrow......to the very shop that rejected it on Friday. You couldn't make this shid up. Thomann apparently furious. I dare not alter anything on the DHL tracking site for fear of fkng things up further. I'm at a loss for words. Tonight I am going to the drop-off shop and BEG them not to refuse the guitar if DHL attempt to drop it off there again. This is a farce!

I remember these. HH belatedly going for the Acoustic look on the panel.

I sold a perfectly good WEM Dominator Mk2 for one of those things. Then I had to buy the 2 x 15" cab to go with it! I wanted the cab with the lock-on protective cover but it was discontinued and I got the newer cab. The wheels got shunted to the side and it became a trolley for load-ins.

I must have been on another planet back then for I do not remember this bass at all! Cowpoke

There was a guy in Edinburgh who ran a recording studio and he had one of them in the late '90s. Strung with flats, it was great for Reggae.

No, all details appreciated! Tx for the back-story. ACR, yeh? I liked them. Pinski Zoo rings a bell.

Same bass, same year, paid a Fiver more. Wish I'd kept it. Mine had the switches, as in this example.
-
Ah, Prince Andrew!

Thx. It's Thomann's responsibility now. Watch this space.

They're all over the guitar/bass forums right now. Pandemic boredom or bots?

Cannot get the Tru-bass thing. Had them on my first bass and hated them so much I never want to see them again Got several Jazzes with various rounds and flats. But, hey, each to their own.

Warwick Reds or old, dud RS66, depending on the bass.

Looks like a Winfield from Woolie's
