Interestingly enough, I almost bought the first version of that pup when it was issued around 1979. I had an Ibby 2388BDX and hated the weak single coil in the Mudbucker housing. I never figured why Ibanez put EB3-copy pups in the through-neck version but fitted more authentic-looking pups to the bolt-on job. Anyways.....I couldn't afford the M1 at that time and went with a double-rail humbler from Bill Lawrence. I'd buy that bass back in a heartbeat if I knew where it was. And that it had a new truss-rod nut!!😅

Quite possibly an M1, given there is a micro-switch which came with that model. The coil was tappable. Can't see it being a pup selector switch.

The 3 Songs You Never Want To Hear Again - Ever

Terry Jack's SITS - how could I forget that dirge? Even as an energetic young teenager it did make one want to slit one's wrists. -

Walk of life - Dire Straits Rock Star - Nickelback Anything by Gilbert O'Sullivan -
That belongs to Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals.

Have to say, liked the album immensely, liked JW's style, but found his sound on that album very sterile.

WITC was an awesome tune and I loved that bassline. I recall the promo vid where the bassist had a Wal and a Trace rig and thought the tone was ace. Wasn't so sure about his shorts, though.....

Happened to me twice in my early days of ebaying. One guy from Sweden hit the button on a mixing desk I was flogging (even after discussing postage costs with me) and then went silent on me. After several days, I got the 'I made a mistake' email. Ebay were of no help. 2nd one was a guy in same town as me who bought a guitar. Again, no payment but a whining email saying that he'd bought it via his GF's ebay account and who got nasty with me when I reported the account to ebay. For a while I inserted 'No bidders with positive feedback less than X' which caused a raft of mild abuse to hit my inbox. It would be great if ebay allowed you to customise this in your sales page that automatically blocked bidders with less than X feedback.

Has to be Jaco Pastorious' eponymous album. That blew me away as a teenager. There's shid on there that I still can't play to this day. 2nd up would be Level 42's The Early Tapes.

I did that with a Greco Rickenfaker that arrived from Russia with a severely up-bowed neck. Left it clamped for about 4 days and never had a problem with it sonce.

Haven't watched it in ages. I did seem to notice that some of the 'big-bands' had both an upright and an electric bassist. That's the last thing I remember about watching LWJH.
-
That's been up for a while, that one. Steiny basses with a Trans-Trem are a rare thing, too.
-
?? What's all that about??
-
Done that several times over the decades. And every time it was a 'meh' experience. Probably because I had left through a major disagreement. But always, to me, the songs sounded different with another bassist. Not saying I did any better, but they just weren't the same. Always left early, too.

True, but it could be salvageable. But without seeing the neck in person, it could be a risk. Nut looks like MDP's been at it.

Tempting, but that 'plate...bbrrr!! Ned Callan

Taking Ric fugliness too far - KayRic

Actually, I spotted JH on my airport transfer bus last week. Well, it's either him or Super Mario. -
Looks like a Valley Arts Guitars logo. They were pretty popular back then.

That's not JH. That's one of the Gruppenführern in the Rickenwaffen. Cant mind his name. -

Same here. Never again. Despite all puff about Ben holding the reins, that rude little megalomaniac is still overseeing the company. -
Fender Custom Shop Phil Lynott P Bass - mental price

Stupidly high price for what it actually is. I could have three or four cracking Lowden acoustics for that price. -
Anyone here kill a set of strings in one gig?
NikNik replied to markdavid's topic in General Discussion
I remember an '80s article on Mark King where her stated that he was going through through three sets of his Funkmaster custom set per gig. I eventually discovered Warwick Reds around ten, twelve years back, and have stuck with them ever since. Flats are handled by Dunlop. -

That was the main reason I stopped using them. -
Hold on...that sidecar has a nacelle. An air intake nacelle. That thing is a one-man jet engine. I can see him and his significant other roaring along the A26 and the sidecar separates, engine ignites, and he flies off to do some James Bond-like skullduggery for HM Govt.
