  1. This is something I really like that Limelight did.......
  2. Limelight does some ace relicing, from what I've seen.
  3. Take your time, mate. If you can feel and move your fingers, you're halfway there.
  4. He will get back to you. In my case, when the bass I was interested in had 'just gone out the door!'.
  5. What, can I ask, did the Consultant say about the loss of use in the arm? Is this not just a complication from the surgery that will mitigate with time and physio?
  6. Bloody hell, mate. Do NOT give up on ever using that hand again. Nerves have a way of reconnecting, don't they? As long as not been severed? I got floored on 2nd January with a MASSIVE pulmonary embolism that nearly killed me. I've made a complete recovery but I never, ever take anything for granted now. Keep the faith, CyberBass. Let your body heal, mate.
  7. Subjective? Tell me about it! The 'wood' arguments are legion.
  8. I remember seeing one of those in (now long gone) Gordon Simpson's Music in Edinburgh back then. Those pups were indeed able to be raised by turning them. Never got a chance to play it as the Simpson Suits had a 'no touch' policy.
  9. What about the neck/body coupling? Can't blame it on the body wood alone......
  10. I was there last week with work. There's one down near Gare du Midi.
  11. Wow....saw him many times with UFO. Sad news.
  12. I totally appreciate what you're saying. My misdemeanor was not on a bass forum. I expected a filter to catch it (it was a play on Facebook) but there was none. My mistake. Didn't expect a John Hall level of 'cease and desist', thoug.) Lesson learned.
  13. So do I. I got banged for a week for saying the F word elsewhere. Big Daddy Mod got a hard-on over it.
  14. On fretted, predominantly thumb anchored over rear pup but sometimes I'll 'float' the right hand closely over the strings. On fretless, same technique but occasionally I will pluck with the inside of the index finger over the 'board. This is good for approximating an Upright sound.

Beautiful. Looks like my old '64. GLWS.
  16. That headstock is going to go bananas at some point.
  17. Here's how I tried doing it on a minty on a Strat. Used a Dremel at very low speed on select areas of the layered ege. Sanded the top with 800 grit and rubbed a turmeric paste onto it. Did that several times and bunged it in a warm oven long enough to see the plastic begin to flex. It actually turned out ok, though there were a few areas that took on yellow top much but it wasn't glaringly obvious.
