  1. A brief search finds some links to a coding practice or to animal templates for children to fill in. That it?
  2. Defo. And not worth the current prices.
  3. I want my old '64 Jazz in matching oly white back. But I doubt I could afford it today. Nice P, mate.
  4. My first ever Rick 4001, a second-hand one. Hated it simply because it sounded so weak. Lasted about four months and flogged it for what I paid for it to Rush fan. Washburn B-20 8-string. Buzzed like a hornet's nest and broke three octave G strings in a row. Went back to the shop. Alembic Series I Point. Truly, I hated it. Traded it for a Status Series II. Though I didn't quite hate it, a Chapman Stick 10-string, bought with the above on a deal. Figured it would be easy to play, having been a piano player but I could barely get a note out of it. Gave myself 6 months to master it and failed. Traded for a Yamaha DX7 !! Though not a bass, a Rick 360. Bought on a whim and sold real quick. Another guitar. An SRV Partscaster bought from OZ. Seller withheld a serious mis-match between neck and neck pocket which I had to personally rectify. The only good thing about it was the set of Slider Strat pups on an aged 'plate. Got it playable but the damage was done and I parted it out, losing money. But the only bass I bought that was POS on arrival was an Alden Beatbacker. Again, bought over the 'net on a whim. Poorly made, poorly finished and impossible to play. That got sent back same day!
  5. 'Also Available in Green' - Trace Elliot trade-only CD from mid '90s.
  6. My one. A 1960 stack-pot Jazz came on the market back in the early '90s. The seller only wanted £1k for it but £1k was a difficult bit of cash for me to raise during a recession. After a week or so, I raised the money and made the call; it was gone. That still grates on my tits to this day.
  7. Just heard of this this morning. Gonna play that 'Windy' bass-line right now.
  8. Import duty is due plus VAT on the freight, which is a dodgy freaking move! If you can pull anything off form under HMRC, good on you.
  9. I am having trouble replying to this site via Android. If I reply, I get multiple quotes. Anyone else getting this?
  10. Bass cost around £600, discounted from £1k due to slight swirl on control plate. £111 for shipping. HMRC took circa £150 and Parcelfarce took whatever they take.
  11. I recently bought one from Japan. It's a Woodine Global (Indonesian) Special with an oil finish. The flame on the back of the neck is stunning! It's absolutely effortless to play. Has a pull-up Turbo boost on the tone control which sums the two pups in series.
  12. I recall one video of them and found them interesting at the time. Can't find zilch on them now.
  13. When I was a really young guy......there was a band in Scotland in the '70s called Ignatz. I remember reading International Musician (gear porn) one month and reading an article whereby the bass player had four JB coils placed under each string on his Jazz. I cannot remember the circuitry invloved but it was a true stereo bass, in that in a multiple amp set-up, the strings panned across from SL to SR. I wish I could find that article.
  14. Anyone remember Heist from the mid '80s? I liked them at the time but could not listen to them today. Too much GADDACLANK-CLANK-CLANK-CLANK. I dropped Slap before the '90s arrived and don't regret it. Wasn't there some old footage of Chris Squire and Steve Howe playing something called 'Bass Odyssey'?
  15. Yeh, can't wait to see the finished effect. Bridge on its way and getting knobs from here, probably the ones that go on Barto pre-amps. Then rounding the effect off with a set of Roto Nexus.
  16. Old photo from God knows where. That white P looks like a slab to me. Anyone?
  17. Thanks. Watch this space with the hardware changes.
