  1. Those early stacks had that black overspray. And I've seen one or two that had the red almost faded away.
  2. I thought it might be a Kemper Profiler, but it isn't.
  3. The E looks like .110
  4. I had a V63 and I drooled over it....except I couldn't get on with the baseball bat neck, so it went. The neck was ok. The swimming pool behind the neck is not good for those basses. And, yes, their prices are nuts right now, and most of them appear to be in Japan.
  5. Shure Axient is great gear.
  6. The Les Dawson of bass
  7. Gone! I actually rather liked it. But not at the price asked.
  8. No chance. It's the demand that keeps them selling. Why don't you look to Japan for copies like Greco? Some of these are as good, if not better, than the real thing.
  9. Some factories seem to have cottoned onto this, now. Plus, that one looks like it has standard-length heel, instead of those really long ones.
  10. I find it difficult to play with a plec. I must have another go at it. Here's a guy covering it.
  11. Worthy of He Who Shall Not Be Named.
  12. Shergold double, 12 + 4
  13. Those rounded pup covers look like something seen on '70s Jap copies. Paging @Bassassin
  14. I don't remember that with Maggie, but I do remember this!
  15. That neck refin looks like a bad shellac finish.
  16. Yes. Woodinblack is correct as well, but if they've looked at the electrics and they tested ok, the only answer is a broken coil.
  17. I had it on a Mustang bass. It was definitely a broken coil. I swapped out everything and it didn't solve the problem. Dialling the tone back saw a considerable volume drop and thin, weedy tone.
  18. '62 P And: 'Tone control pot may need attention as it currently works as a volume pot..' - isn't that a symptom of a broken coil?
  19. Being unfamiliar with their output post '85, what's he using the Mooger on?
  20. KCM is one of my fav tracks. I could never get the hang of the count before the bass came in.
  21. Same here, even though I love MK's playing. I was daft on them from The Early Tapes/Level 42 and saw them several times back then. They lost me with World Machine, though I did go to see them touring it. The lustre was gone, and I didn't like the commercial direction they seemed to be taking. That was it, door closed. That said, pleased to hear they're still being enjoyed by many,
