1.
Silly me, I noticed just as I looked at this again! I wonder how they sound compared to the ovangkol bodied thumbs?
I've had both walnut & ovankol 5 string versions of the bolt on thumb, there is a considerable difference, the early walnut versions (93-96) have a thicker more honky tone with a sweeter almost straty top end & if this were a 5 string i'd buy it (as most of my bass duty's require the low b string) I currantly own the 6 string version & cannot rate it enough, these early bolt ons are something else!! Have a Bump for an awsome bass
2. Bump for £550 ??

8. I have been playing bass guitar professionally for many years but due to lack of work on the isle of wight i am looking to relocate for the right band, distance is no problem. I'm 42, have been playing bass & guitar since i was 7 yrs old. I have all my own professional equipment & transport. I play fretted & fretless 6 string bass guitars. My playing styles include: Funk Rock, Prog rock Soul Jazz Blues Metal, Prog metal & almost any other type of music. I have worked in bands ranging from a resident band on a holiday park playing ballroom dance music and pop to black/death metal band. I also have many years of live & studio experience. I'm looking for full time work with a good quality function band or similar. I'm available for depping at short notice (as long as i have a set list & keys the songs are in, i will learn the whole set over night. My mobile no is: 07772713296 ALLAN.

13. I would bet They are ken smith's, if they sound that good! Ever since i've owned a smith bt6 that came with ken smith taper cores, i use them on everything. I put a set on my Thumb 6 string a couple of weeks ago & our sound engineer thought i'd changed my pickups, it sounds awesome. You can get them on ebay for a reasonable price: Heres a link, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT These are what i use
14. I'm open to any reasonable offer on this
15.
A guy in a once-local band used to use a Streamer Pro M 5, and he had one of the best live tones I've ever heard. Punchy, growly, thick, fabulous.
Cheers Man! It really has got a sound all of its own & i wouldn't think of selling it if i didn't need the cash,
16. I'm having the same problems with one of my bands, but it's the guitarist "he never learns his songs" I have to learn the songs for him & then show him what to play!! it waste's so much time.. So if no one wants to play guitar i'll do it I reckon a band made up of Angry bass players on second instruments would be a force to be reckoned with :brow:
17.
and a lovely £10,000 price (starting price of course) lol Great looking Pro-M, good luck with it! Will be nice to see, what i'm guessing to be, one of the first new Wals! Si
Thanks for that, I'll put pics up of the wal once i have it & tell you all about it
18. This is the combo that i used for rehursing with my band, it's 100w sounds pretty good but needs a service as the pots are a bit scratchy & one of the handles is broken. I'm asking £80 for it, i'm on the isle of wight but a return on the ferry will only cost £11 & i can meet at the ferry terminal Price drop to £50,
19.
Must..... ....Resist!
It's ok, you dont have to resist
20.
Congratulations on ordering the Wal 6 And good luck with the sale of the Warwick...
Thank you for that, It's going to be a long 10 month wait, But so worth it
21. This Was going to be a keeper for me as it has unbelievable tone, But i need to raise some cash as i've just ordered a brand new wal 6 string from paul herman. This is a 97 streamer pro m, Wenge neck & fingerboard, lovely tiger stripe arched maple body, MEC pickup's (yes there are two pickup's in there) MEC 2band eq With seperate preamp for each pickup, The condition is very good considering it's age with only a few bumps here & there, the worst being a slight crack over the control cavity (pictuered) but is still solid & doesent affect the payability what so ever, I have no idea what it's worth so i'll ask £595 inc postage & see what happens
22. This is what i have gas for!!! I wanted to buy captain rumbles pro1 but immediate cash is a problem so i spoke to paul herman on friday about ordering a fretless wal sixer, It will take around 10 months to build so that would give me enough time to pay for it, I'm thinking of placing the order tomorrow
23. Anyone recieved their new Wal yet?
