1. I've heard nothing since a couple of weeks ago when he said he was close to finalising a price list ??
2. I bought my daughter a westfield warwick thumb 5 string copy from ebay & after adjusting the trus rod & saddles, puting a lighter guage set of strings on it sounds & play's lovely, i've even sloped the tuners down & cut the "w" from aluminium & recessed it into the headstock. So i'd say if you're ok about setting it up all should be good
3. Nice wheelie dude!!!
4. Thanks for that oliver, i use to have a 4 string mk1 fretless with shedua facings & i loved the sound it made, hopefully paul herman will get back to me soon & i can discuss having one made for me. At the moment i have a warwick thumb nt6 & was very tempted to buy another one & have the fingerboard replaced for a fretless ebony one but i think i'll wait as a 6 string fretless wal is what i've alway's dreamed of having
5. Do you have any pics?
6. I think wals look good in any colour but i just love wals (i woudn't like to see a pink one though)
7.
Definitely the best choice you can make! My fretless is a real dream to play:
All i can do is dream about playing one at the moment That is a sexy bass you got there..... is the tone of it anyware close to the 4 string wals?
8. I Had an email from paul herman & he say's he will be making 6 string wals & he was quite close to sorting out a price list :brow: But i think he has a few back orders to do.
9. Oh Man, i missed the wal i've been searching for one for ages good luck with your jazz it looks nice.
10. Mmmm!!! Thats really nice, Good luck with your gig i'm sure you'll love the sound of it
11. I moved straight from a wal custom 4 string to a tobias pro 6 (korian version) & found it very easy to play, it took me a couple of weeks to get used to the extra strings & being able to hit the right notes & i had to realy think about the way i slap & pop but around a month later i could play it just as well as i could play my 4 string. I have had a few sixers since & currantly own a warwick thumb nt6 (not recomended as a first 6 string "very chunky neck") but i love it If you can find a tobias pro 6 go for it, dial in the bridge pickup with the tone backed off will give you a pretty convincing tye zamora tone, they usually go for around £300-£400 with through neck & active eq, the neck is i would say is a medium width but is very slim & comfortable. I would definately have another one of these but at the moment i'm waiting to see if paul herman will build me a 6 string fretless wal once he's sorted out his back orders
12. This isnt mine but i sure wish it was....
13. Thats a lovely bass !! I traded a flambouyant headless 6 on here for a through neck warwick thumb 6 for the same reason, my sei bass just lacked punch, it seemed ok when i played it on it's own but when i played it with my band the sound got lost. strange thing though is both basses have bartolini pickups but my thumb thunders through the sound of my band, i now wonder if i put mec actives in the sei the same as my warwick has if that would have made the difference?? Just a thought
14. actually can i have 4 tickets please? i really love thumbs
15.
Thanks for the pic! Thats a stunning bass!!!
Thank's, i originaly bought it fretted & had martin peterson at the bass gallery relace the whole fingerbaord with an ebony fretless one, i just wish i could buy it back but i have no idea who owns it now. fretless wal's just sound awsome!! i need another one, maybe a five or six string if i could find one.
16. I know this may be an old thread but i thought i'd share an old memory, i sold it a couple of years ago & really wish i hadn't
17. Oh well if it was too heavey to use you just put it on the stand & stare at it
18. I've had too many basses to mention here (always looking for that perfect sound) as i play a vast range of music, funk,soul,rock,m.o.r,METAL & even country if i'm payed enough. after going through the motions with trying different basses i settled on a warwick 5 string thumb & a wal custom 4, the warwick could cover every style of music with a bit of tweaking here & there. i sold both basses & bought a sei 6 a lovely looking bass that had a nice sound of it's own but i missed the sound & feel of my warwick so i traded it for another thumb nt6 & now i feel at home again, so i would say that in my mind the warwicks that i've had are very versitile in covering most types of music. Now i just need to find a nice wal 6 string as the 4 string i had was just an awsome bass. Josh don't let anything put you off buying a thumb, if i'd known you were after one when my girlfriend collected that eden cab from you, id've let her take my one with her just so you could try it.
19.
You've seen one? I've seen a 5, but never a 6. G.
I found this pic on the net....
