  1. Talking of credit (or lack of it!), been reading this week about Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake, and the whole Ozzy and Sharon thing. Apparently Lee lost everything in the court case. Neither Ozzy or Sharon come out of it very well.....
  2. For me, this -
  3. I'm in agreement with many of the above - the Stuart Copeland episode was much better, more informative. Tina's programme I found a little bit, well, trivial. Seemed to be a lot more about her than SC's, and as has been said, his career could fill hours by itself. The hour skirted around the edges, when there was far more to say. The should have used Stuart's hour as the template and followed that! We saw Stuart drumming a fair bit in his show - don't think we say Tina play once, bar the odd vintage clip......🙄
  4. Back up to ÂŖ21.50 now. Couple of weeks back, it went down further to just over ÂŖ16. I cancelled my ÂŖ18 order, and re-pre-ordered at the even lower price! Agreed, I'm a right old tight wad to save a couple of quid! 🤑
  5. Very sad. Amazingly powerful drummer, what a career. It seems to be a bad time for drummers right now - just read that Lee Kerslake, many years the power behind Uriah Heep, has been given only months to live - https://www.loudersound.com/news/terminally-ill-drummer-lee-kerslake-receives-platinum-discs-from-ozzy
  6. Nico bought my US Geddy Lee - we got there in the end! Super to deal with, fully appreciate the trust as it's a lot to spend without playing it first. Thanks again Nico, enjoy the bass! 😀
  7. Stranglehold has got a bass solo in it! Surely a great advertisement for bass? I've read some discussion online with Rob Grange, the bass player on the track. May be an unpopular opinion, but Ted's first batch of albums (until '82) are brilliant rock records. Even the dullest of lines may be easy to play, but if it fits the track perfectly, surely that's a great line?
  8. Withdrawn for now! 😀
  9. Most 'classic' albums pass me by. Just associate them with the never-ending polls in Mojo magazine. Sure, there's maybe a few, but..... If I saw someone's record collection filled with such records, I would immediately jump the conclusion that they have zero imagination, and are just listening to what they think they should be. No offence....! 🤐
  10. I'll watch this on catch-up/Sky download for sure. Later? Don't think I'll bother......
  11. I did a couple of recordings with the same studio, several years apart. First time, used a Rickenbacker 4003. Second time, a P bass. Experience was the opposite - I was grilled as to 'where's the Ricky?' as oppose to welcoming the P!
  12. Watched it, not sure what to make of it. Nobody came out of it well. Both brothers appear to be quite dislikable. A snake pit of emotions for sure. Seemed a bit staged at times, if I'm honest.
  13. What a depressing way to end 2018. That line up is precisely the reason why the BBC's music programme department needs a total shake-up.
  14. Mickey bought my copy of Pete Way's autobiography. As before, so easy to deal with, a real credit to BC. Enjoy the new read! 😀
  15. I like them, but can't get on with them! Tried a good few, but with they just don't have that tone in my hands. Can't disagree with the fact that it's probably the most recorded bass ever.....so the problem is most definitely with me!
  16. This is John Hall. Cease and desist this thread with immediate effect, or I'll set the entire Rickresource user base on you all! 😆
  17. I love all of their output. Can't find fault in any of it....sorry!! 😀
  18. It's down again! ÂŖ22.51. Might be of interest for those who missed on the ÂŖ18 of last week! Went up really quickly last time.....
  19. Would love to see this tab'd or a how to video. I'd be really keen to play this! 😀
  20. I watch CBC every year. Love it. Due a watch tomorrow as it's Christmas Eve. I was playing around with the soundtrack last night. Vince Guaraldi was a genius. He was immensely proud of his Charlie Brown work and rightly so. He had a good voice as well....witness 'Little Birdie' and one of my favourites, the totally legendary 'Joe Cool'! 😎
  21. When he stopped playing bass with Genesis......🤔
  22. Now ÂŖ55! 😮
  23. Many thanks. Been looking at this, but was put off by the ÂŖ50 price tag! Now ordered....at that price, I don't care how long it takes! 😀
  24. What a legend. Another player from an era now gone....looking at the list, very sadly.☚ī¸
  25. Manic Street Preachers - pre-1995, before Richey Edwards went missing. Totally different band, lyrically and musically. Can't abide what they became 1996-onward....sold millions more records, but lost all of what made them different and great. Blue Oyster Cult - Tricky one....first 3 'black and white' albums are sublime, post-'Reaper'.....some great stuff, but never the real consistent heights they reached on albums 2 and 3. All IMHO of course.....😀
