FENDER 'FLEA' SIGNATURE JAZZ BASS Up for grabs here is my Fender Flea Jazz. It is is genuine reluctant sale - but given that another bass I've suffered long-term GAS for has become available, this has got to go. As the owner of another Road Worn Jazz, it's the Flea that's sadly in the hot seat. These basses have been praised - and with totally good reason. It's one of the Jazziest-Jazz basses I've heard. Currently strung with Fender 9050L flats. Condition of this is as new - as new 'Road Worn', that is. No new marks or dents. The neckplate I changed to a blank one (I'm not a Flea fan), but the original is included should you wish to show your appreciation for the man himself. It will also be packed in a hard case. These usually come with thin Fender gig bags - but this one will arrive in a used (but very good) Stagg 'Vintage' tweed case. These retail new at £90. No scales, but I confirm that this is a very light bass, very easy to handle. Only asking £750 for this. UK postage free, add £15 on for Europe. Payment by PayPal 'gift' please, or Bank Transfer is fine. Lots of Feedback, so please buy with confidence. Please PM with interest, and thanks for looking! FLEETWOOD MAC - THEN PLAY ON - CD. I'm a music streaming service subscriber, but sometimes the odd album isn't on file - for example, this one! I bought this strictly to upload to my Google Play library. As such, it's literally been unwrapped, uploaded, and that's it! So you have an 'as new' CD copy of a classic album. 14 original album tracks, another 4 bonus. Including 'Oh Well' Parts 1 & 2. This was their 3rd album, and last with Peter Green (where my interest in FM ends!) Shipped UK free, only asking £5 for this. Payment by Paypal gift please, and it'll in your letterbox ASAP! PM with any interest, and thanks for looking! SB

Very sad.

Great band IMHO,so many great tracks. Bit of a guilty pleasure for me....I'm always trying to get band to jam on 'You Sexy Thing'! Errol Brown, what a legend.

I hadn't started playing bass when he died, so I missed out by a few years. I became exposed to his talents via the music he was involved in, rather than chasing out recordings because of his involvement. Pre-internet, I buy getting records I liked, and had the 'who's that on bass' thing. That came afterwards, trying to find anything his played on! On a side note, the Michael Jackson program on Channel 5 last night, they interviewed Bobby Colomby because of his affiliation with Epic records. He was heavily involved in getting Jaco to a wider audience, so quite timely he was on this week.

You can never have too much JP. His playing offered something for all - groove, solo, he had it all. Never bettered in my opinion.

I've used Hotmail for some time now, usually works fine. I swapped over from easy.com - that was a seriously bad provider. The Hotmail was my backup, but had so many issues with Easy, that I chose to make it my default email. Never looked back!
I have wanted one of these since playing one in PMT, it's got worse now that they are releasing the Capri orange.
Wowzers. Just Googled that and saw a photo. Seriously awesome!

That's very sad. I'm not on FB, so had no idea about this. His discography is massive - just one of those players you'd love to be, with a massive stack of recordings in different genres. He actually co-wrote the Narada track as well, easily one of my favourite lines ever. How very depressing.

It's my real name. Have you never seen my cartoon?

Bands you don't like with members you do like

Poor old Taylor Hawkins appears to be the most hated man on Basschat! Hope he's not a lurker on here...... -

What do you do if you get overpaid at a gig ?
spongebob replied to Les's topic in General Discussion
We've always handed it back as well. Always believe in doing the right thing, even if we do end up with less! -
-
I had one, gigged it for a year or so. Only reason I sold it, was that when I changed the car, it would fit in (I was aware of this before the transaction!). Loved it so much, in fact, that I replaced it with a Rumble 500 head. I was already using a Rumble 1x15 as an occasion extension cab, so kept that and added a 1x12. You can't go wrong with any of the range - I think they're fantastic. I up the gain, and use the 'vintage' setting, and it's on!
-
Superb musician, amazing works. RIP, HC. Very sad to think that we've lost two pioneers within days.
-
Where I am, no car, no gig! We play usually within a 1 1/2 hour radius....no public transport at night, and even during the day, there's nothing direct. Never something I could even contemplate. I also enjoy a bit of comfort and performance in my transport!

His own website appears to confirm this. Very sad indeed.

Recommendations for hearing bass on home hi-fi systems
spongebob replied to Orbs's topic in General Discussion
I'm a streamer - legal - from Google play for the last few years. Regularly found the various systems lacked bass. Always blamed the format. Few months back, bought a pair of Audio Engine speakers, combined with a S3 sub woofer. It's totally transformed how I hear digital music. Bass is huge, I'm always turning it down! Can't recommend their stuff highly enough. -
Flicked through it after watching the first few spots. Soulsville? More like Dullsville to me! I like the original stuff, but this to me came across as cosy karaoke.
