  1. Looks like it’s gone now off the BB site. Ok, own up, who caved in? 😉😁
  2. I maintain for a quality USA instrument, that retails often for over 3k, you can find one a good selection for under £1500. A used US Fender is always way more than half price, for example. 😀
  3. My first bass was one of those. Weighed roughly the same as Geoff Capes! 😄
  4. Bet that’s gone within hours. 👍
  5. Lovely basses, Will at BB regularly has an amazing stock, priced well, too. Think they represent quite a bargain used, at the mo. At one time, I had 2 - a 2 and a 3 EQ. Sadly, both now moved on. Reason? What I play, the band never liked them, eventually. I found myself selling 1, never using the other, so in time, let it go as well. I had no complaints, problems, or anything else. I love them. Only slight gripe, some (one of mine did) are affected by a weak D and G string. No amount of set up would fix it - I had the pickup replaced by a Nordstrand - problem fixed immediately, and it sounded amazing. It now lives another life with @Yoda 😀 Cracking bass.
  6. I thought the first one when I mis-read it, was named after the late actress, Beryl Reid! 😫
  7. Hi Martin, all good thank you. Hope your back is fully healed now. 👍 I just have issues on dark stages, no surprise really! The Ricky is fine, when I (occasionally) use an alternative, I want to make things as easy as possible. 👍🤟
  8. I had a 2x12 briefly…..I found it to be good, fine, didn’t do anything I could get elsewhere. Stuck with Markbass before and ever since. 👍
  9. I went to the GP yesterday, and they sent me to a new waiting area way out on its own. I was in there, on my own, just the radio on in the corner. After suffering Elton John, then that Bill Medley/Jennifer thingy song for about 2 minutes, I walked over, stretched up to the high shelf where the radio was……wiggled a few things……and silence! 👍 Instantly felt more relaxed. 😇
  10. That’s interesting……last nights gig wasn’t that hot, and they stayed on. I’m applying them to a couple of nice US basses……would clear nail varnish affect anything? What if you have to ever remove it? ☹️
  11. They’re on! Glass cleaner first, and then applied on 2 basses. Only wobble on one of the rhe 12th’s! Gig tonight…….see if they’re still attached by the end! 😁
  12. Is that ok on the necks? I’m doing one lacquered and one natural/satin. I was thinking about using a glasses wipe? 👀
  13. @Huge Hands Got them yesterday! Going to apply them before tomorrow’s gig. Do you remember what you cleaned the neck with before application? Yours appeared to be now staying on? 👍
  14. Thank you, Mr 🙌 Hands! I’ll order some now……they sound like just the job. 👍 Do you always use the light, or do you find they naturally illuminate?
  15. Do you remember what colour they were before lit up? I’d be a bit put off if they were bright green ‘cold’, especially on a Vintage style bass! 🫣
  16. Been doing lots of digging…..due to a multitude of eye ops, I really struggle with the side dots on my necks. Some threads are older, and it’s hard to get a consistent answer! Reviews of some have them falling off rapidly…… An older post mentioned Glowtec - any recent experiences of them? Appear to come in 3 different sets….. Basses are both nice instruments, so I don’t want to doing a Talkbass suggestion of TipEx or similar! Just something in keeping, that will assist me when the lights dip (even a little). 👀
  17. Nordstrand NP4V pickups for your Precision. These are the Vintage model, based on a 50s P tone…..they sound exactly as amazing as you’d imagine. Removed by my Luthier from a P I’ve just acquired (I’ve had a more modern tone fitted). As such, happy to move these on. Only asking £50, plus £5 postage. Less than half the price of a new set. Payment by PayPal ‘gift’ please. PM with any questions, thanks for looking. SB 😀
  18. I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with Bruce for his AV2 P. A gent from start to finish, amazing comms, kept me updated at every stage. Packaged to survive a nuclear blast as well, very reassuring! 🤓 Thanks again Bruce for a fab transaction. 👍👍
  19. Dave Allen, by default, if they were naming comics! 😉
  20. Bit shocking, that. If that was a local band, think he’d struggle to get away with those vocals! 🫣
  21. It was a Markbass Little Marcus 800, Martin. I wasn’t put off as I went out and picked up a new (500) one! 🤣
  22. They were amazing. Didn’t charge me anything….as one bit was fine so no work required, and as for the amp…..they agreed it wasn’t worth touching.
  23. I use the Cobalt Flats, they’re fab. 👍
  24. It did and it didn’t! The cab was absolutely fine, it was my choice of cables that it didn’t like. 👍 Amp was a different story. It was the main board - IIRC - essentially, it would have meant a new one, which was the value of the amp. I’d bought it used - it died on its first gig. I couldn’t return it……long story. I didn’t have East Street look at until I’d had it for about 8 weeks, so it would have seemed dodgy if I’d then I’d have contacted the seller to say it was dead. So I took the hit. 😫
