1. Stick with the Precision, Ms. Undead! I sold mine (as you spotted) - foolishly - and ended up dumping everything and getting another!
2. Looks and sounds great! Why are all the new more 'abstract' Fender's all Squier or MIC?
3. I'm currently down to one bass - it's quite liberating!
4. Thanks Dave - mutually perfect feeling over here too!
5. Sold my USA Jazz to Dave - a great man to deal with. Payment was instant, communication excellent. As a BC'er who's now bought from and sold to Dave, I'll say it again - deal with 100% confidence. Thanks Dave!
6. I agree with much of what has been said. A few years ago, I'd have been in the 'give it time' camp. But in the last 18 months, I've really taken a long time to come around to if it's no good, get out. In my experience, if you're not happy, it never gets better! Life's too short to put up with it. If I couldn't find the right band, I'd rather play alone until something else comes along.....which it always does.
7. http://www.isaachayes.com/video/session/index.html Superb studio footage - rehearsing part of the soundtrack - and that song. I'm a massive IH fan, so just had to share it - what a band to be a part of.
8.
That flowery pick guard is amazing. Joking aside, lovely bass, wish I could afford it.
Lovely Precision for sale - knew Ms. Undead would be lurking around here somewhere.......!
9. Sounds like a great bass! Well done on the Markbass set-up as well - same as mine - swear by them, great combination.
10. Bit of interest, but still available - I'll bump it just the once as I'm sure most people have seen it already!
11. That is one gorgeous finish - great price too.
12. Sorry, no trades. As for anything else, please drop me a PM!
13.
Oh spongebob. Why do you always have to sell basses I badly want but can't afford?
This is the last one to go - my GAS has quelled in recent months - so I promise to torture no more Ms. Undead!
14. Having finally tracked down a Roadworn Jazz at a sensible price, I want to move on my gorgeous USA Precision to release some funds! Bought this year from Bass Direct, she is an immaculate example - 3TS. Has been fully set up by local Luthier James Collins of 12th Fret - plays as good as it looks. The only mark I can see is a few very, very light surface scratches on the pickguard. Can't be picked up by the camera, but to be truly picky I'll mention them. Serial number starts US10, so I assume it was produced that year? I'm no expert on the serial numbers! I wasn't too big on the Fender case, so it comes with a my brand new Gator GPE-TSA case. Hate having to part with this....but I'm looking for £675, £700 couriered in the UK. I think that's about right for an as-new beautifully set-up Precision? All extras included and unused - strap, cable, etc. Based in Tenterden, Kent for collection if wanted. Have bought and sold through BC before, so have feedback - buy with confidence. Please PM for any further interest - Iain
15. 50% for me - like the clarity/boom mix!
16. Any Chic album. The James Brown box set 'Star Time' covers his career really well, loads of single-only stuff you'll struggle to find elsewhere.

18. Prices at the moment are really good on some used ones - saw a 2011 4003 on E-bay the other week - BIN for £1100. Went quite swiftly...!
19. Typical! Din't they consider an anally-retentive bassist would wounder about such things 39 years after they recorded it?
20. Listening to this over the weekend - great album. Obviously some of the bass is acoustic, with Miroslav Vitous - but the electric stuff was with Andrew White. On the sleeve he is listed as 'Fender Bass' - sounds a bit P-bass to me, as it's quite a deep tone - but does anyone know for sure what he played on it? I l really like his sound!
21. You can buy one from the USA on E-bay for £680....not quite sure how that works with import taxes (think it's about £700 shipped). Still £300 cheaper than the nearest UK stockist....can't see the extras topping that?
22. A year or so ago, you couldn't move for Roadworns. Everywhere had them...shops, Ebay....but now nowhere seems to have them at the moment. There's the odd one around, but I've been looking for a Red Jazz for a bit, really hard to find. Even the places that don't have them list the price at nearly £1100!!! All the regular stockists are out, and have been for a while. They're listed on the Fender site, so seemingly haven't been discontinued. That's why I'm looking for used - crazy prices....now virtually the same as a MIA without a case!
23. Cool - already have TOD - what a shame they didn't continue any further, I love John Mclauglin and Tony Williams. I keep seeing a download of Jaco with Albert Mangelsdorff and Alphonse Mouzon - Trilogue? Sounds interesting. Had a flick through the Brian Melvin 'Nightfood' album on Amazon - doesn't sound great to me - bit like a Sade backing track!
