  1. VAN DAMME XKE GOLD INSTRUMENT CABLE 10m- NEW! Neutrik straight to angled. I bought this, and a Speakon (also listed) brand new from Designacable on 21/8/21. Due to circumstances, I plugged it in once to try it, and that's it. I put it in the drawer, and it's lain there since. As I move away from the bass world, everything must go. I have a couple of other items for sale on here at the mo. The lead is amazingly well made - I'm sure many on here have used the firm before. Great company who make super quality stuff. Colour is the lead is yellow - yes, Spongebob yellow. What else would you expect? It looks fabulous! Hard to get decent photos, as I am useless wrapping cables. But I'm sure you get the idea..... Cost me £25 - only asking £10, plus £2.50 postage, UK only. Payment via PayPal 'gift' of Bank Transfer. Please PM with any interest - and thanks for looking! SB 😁
  2. LEVY'S M4 STRAP - BLACK Nice quality leather strap, bought by myself in the Summer. Light home use only. A nicely slightly used strap, essentially! Was very stiff when it came to me (from Guitar Guitar), loosening up nicely now. Think I've scored a BC own-goal with that description.....🤔 As I move out of the bass world, everything must go....have a few other items on here as well. It's the same as this one here - https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/11090713013431--levys-m4-blk Only asking £10, plus £2 postage, UK only. Payment via PayPal 'gift' or Bank Transfer, both fine. Sold loads on here before, please check my FB thread for references. Please PM with any interest - thanks for looking! SB 😁
  3. Both now sold elsewhere. 😁
  4. No problems at all, Peter! Fab bass that I'm sure another BC''er will cherish. Although I take zero responsibility for the carpet in my pics. That was here when we moved in, LOL! 😁
  5. ASHDOWN STUDIO JUNIOR 15w BASS COMBO Perfect for practice! Bought by myself back in June, this practice combo has only seen slight bedroom use, and is therefore in mint condition. Cost £80 new, only asking £40, and that will include free UK courier to your door. Please check my BC feedback for references. PM with any interest, and thanks for looking! SB 😀
  6. Thanks - appreciated. 👍 It is a beast, that's for sure...but still very light....and cheap! 😁
  7. Had the pleasure of selling my Am Pro 2 P bass to Peter. Seamless transaction - deal agreed on Wednesday, bass delivered on Friday! Superb to deal with, an absolute dream......a real credit to BC. Enjoy your new bass! 👍
  8. ASHDOWN RIG - RM C112T 500 EVO COMBO PLUS RM 112T EVO CABINET - BOTH WITH NEW ROQSOLID COVERS A stunning, lightweight, 500w set-up. Up for grabs is my Ashdown rig. Purchased by myself a couple of months back, both items were literally opened, tested, and put under cover. No further use. With reference to my bass sale, my giving up the bassworld for good, means that everything must go. I bought this set-up with a view of restarting, but nothing has come of it, and lack of general opportunities has convinced me to move on. I am sure reading this far, you know how light and powerful this is. I would like to sell as a pair, but I am more than happy to separate. Both items must go, as the bass sold this very morning (thanks Peter!) The condition of both parts is as new. I cannot emphasise that enough - they really are. As are the covers - opened, put on, and never left the spare room since. The combo retails at £470, the cab at £299. Price-wise, I'd like around £280 £250 for the combo, £150 £130 for the cab. Courier in the UK only, £10 per item. I clearly won't be making on this, it's more of a postage contribution! Price is therefore £430 for the pair - unless you want both - £420 £375 combined (header price is for the combined individual amount). I'd rather send, given certain caring duties I perform here - but if you'd like a socially-distanced collection from the driveway, that can be arranged. Payment by Bank Transfer please - no trades, thanks. Any further info, photos, etc., please PM....and thanks for looking! SB 😄 Note - When the combo arrived, it was without a power lead. I purchased a brand new one, and that will be included.
  9. FENDER AMERICAN PROFESSIONAL 2 PRECISION BASS - 2021 Bought by myself in June this year, direct from Guitar Guitar, up for grabs is my 'as new' Miami Blue P. Only way to describe the bass is immaculate. No dents, knocks, anything. Home use only. Originally fitted with a (rather nasty) mint green pickguard, it now wears a far more appropriate black variant. Fitted with a set of Rotosound Jazz Bass 77 flatwounds, this bass was set-up just over a month ago by a trusted local luthier. The colour is very hard to catch - in the flash, it's far less navy, lighter by far. Different Google searches give varying impressions....I think from mine you can get the flavour. You have a new American P, all set-up. Yes, it is really as good as it sounds! Hard case also new and unmarked, tools, certificate....all included. I am selling, quite simply, as I am walking away (for good this time) from the bass world. My return hasn't yielded the opportunities I was promised/hoping for, and as such, lack of other options has made me come to a conclusion. Furthermore, I'll be listing some new Ashdown gear over the coming days, along with other new and unused items. Price-wise, I'm looking for around £1200, free courier to your door in the UK (easier due my care duties). Bank transfer please. This has to go. No trades, thanks. I've sold loads on here since 2008 - please check my feedback for references. Any questions, please fire away. Thanks for looking! SB
  10. Bass in an ensemble instrument for me. If it glues the mix, it works. Jamerson is a perfect example....his bass tone is more prominent on those recordings than 99% of recorded bass since!
  11. Drums was my first instrument. It's always the first aspect of any band I jump on. Bad drummer, bad band.
  12. That heading seems to appear on all the regional lisings. Been looking at a few of late, and it's always there.
  13. Wish I had! 😄 No to all of the above - just the list. In all my years of playing, this was a new one even for me. Quite shocking, really - thought it was worth sharing with the BC collective - certainly the first time I've been given such bizarre instructions!
  14. Nope, nothing. Just a huge list, and asked to get going on them! Won't be going any further with me.....
  15. Very much modern, Christian rock. I'm all for trying new things, but.....!
  16. With the originals project on a slow burn (looking more at 2022), I've been looking around for something else to get my teeth into alongside. Spotted an ad looking for a bassist. Musically, it's faith music - not something I've ever done before - but I'm always open to anything if the band's right. In my head I was thinking Aretha/Curtis.....classic spirituals which are fine with me. As it turned out, I asked for a potential list of what they're going to do. They sent me a list of what to look at......83 songs! None of which were on my radar. Don't think I'll be following this one up.....distance is an issue (always willing to compromise for the right project).....but they come across like they don't really know what's going on!
  17. Think mine is around 1.5mm, using Roto Flats. Pretty much as low as it will go, I like the E as close to the board as it will go without much buzz, obviously easier with the flats.
  18. 70s Punk? Think you'd have a job to beat a P bass, both in looks and tone. Probably covers most of the bass parts played in that era!
  19. I'm a Fall devotee of many years, they could do no wrong in my book. Their last, and longest standing line-up, were incredible. I would be the first to admit that live, you could get a mixed bag. It was always said that MES would rather perform some bad gigs, followed by a jaw-dropper, than a consistent run of simply 'ok' shows. He is not appreciated......still!
  20. I love the Pigpen era, odd bits after that. For me, Pig was their anchor, and when they lost him, the band certainly moved in a different direction. Alarmingly, the studio albums certainly dipped in quality as well post-72 IMHO. Everyone hears things differently, and I think that's the best thing. Some may hate the earlier stuff, and gravitate to the mid/latter period. They were uber-cool, and such a great unit....as seen on the Festival Express film. I do like Blues For Allah in places.....but I think they really suffered as Garcia's heavy drug use got worse. From the books I've read, around '74 or so, when he was making the GD film....coincides when they leave my realm of interest. I'd recommend Europe '72 as a good starter. Nice mix of the jamming, blues, and pretty much what they did up until that point in time.
  21. 'The Low End Theory' is the standout of that day for me - the other 3 leave me a bit cold, TBH. I'm still digging out new-to-me jazz albums now where I'll catch a snippet, and realise that I first heard it on TLET. Introduced me to a whole world of stuff I'd never have otherwise been exposed to.
  22. Lou is definitely an interesting player. Seen them a couple times, in '09, and I think, '12. Can't quite remember! Excellent in both instances. They came back, and haven't tarnished their legacy one bit, and continue from where they left off. A rare feat! Haven't listened to the new album yet. My only gripe with their post-reunion output has been J's productions. The bass is simply buried and pretty much inaudible in most of the records. Live, it was totally different, bass really powerful and 'out there' (if you excuse the Dino-pun!)
  23. A shame, I think we'd all like to buy from somewhere over here. The recent Musik Productiv offers with the Ashdown stuff, of which I purchased, was crazy. I'd have paid a bit more from the UK if it could have got near.....but to be cheaper from a British brand overseas? No wonder places are in trouble!
