I would also consider looking at your pedal order and EQ settings first, if i were using that setup I would be going; Compressor, Pitchfork, AfterShock, EQ, Mobius, Nemisis For the EQ I would experiment with your settings a bit more as your current settings aren't ideal for punch. As for a DI, completely depends on which one you choose as they have different uses. A plain DI does nothing but send a balanced signal to FOH/desk where as something like a sansamp adds a lot more flavour and utility.
-
Of all the preamps I've tried out now, the Sansamp VTDI is definitely the best one I've used. Never been a huge fan of the normal bass driver sansamp but the VT is a lot more useful.

For sale is my HX stomp with it's original box/packaging and manuals. It does have velcro on the back from being on my board but I find myself not using many effects now so this is overkill for me. It doesn't come with the original power supply (which are awful anyway) but I will include the voltage doubler cable so you can use it with your pedalboard power supply! Bought new from Andertons earlier this year and used for a handful of shows I will send it as is as there are 2 of the Ian Martin Alison packs loaded into this, so will not factory reset unless you would prefer that. Happy to post for additional cost or collection from Grimsby May be interested in some offers/trades for other pedals!

Its not a light cab by any means but I've managed to get it in and out of the car by myself so far somehow

The EQ is definitely something to get used to on the Terror Bass, I believe flat is bass on 0 Mids on full and treble on 0. I still love the Ampeg a lot and I am very tempted to hang onto it, but i could put the money into something else that I'd use more I think.

Sold my Ampeg cab today and the fella came to try it out equipped with a Sandberg California II VS4 I believe it was and it sounded incredible. Never seen or heard one in person before and now I'm currently trying to find one to order, had a play on the one today and i'm completely sold!

For most of my gigs I do now I am ampless currently using a HX stomp but thinking of switching that out for something else. When I do use an amp for my original band though it will be my new setup Orange 4x10 with a terror bass.

I've always liked Markbass cabs for the most part, I used to have the 104HF and it was one of the best cabs I've used. I think most of the hate goes towards the heads more than the cabs as they're also rather unreliable in my experience. The cabs are rather mid low mid focused but helps you cut through in a mix really well. Other people just slate them on cosmetics alone

I just wasn't getting on with the Ampeg setup as much as I would've hoped. The Orange sound is just much more suitable to me, my guitarist uses orange too so made sense to switch over to them. I was very temped to go back to Ashdown though.
-
Finally grabbed the matching orange 4x10 for my new terror bass and sounds immense! The Ampeg rig is now sold on Evilbay pending collection but will miss it a lot, however the orange is more suitable for me right now! people were not exaggerating on the weight of this 4x10 though, it is incredibly heavy

From memory the EQ and controls/layout were different

It was definitely a 2 man job that cab! The picture I’ve used was from the old blue last in London I think which I remember having a big metal exterior staircase which was not a fun experience going up and down with that.

I used to have the 7200 and 7400 at one point using a marshall DBS 2x15 cab and it sounded incredible! Definitely one of my favourite amps i've had. I did a bi-amp setup with a Marshall combo too for a little while. IMG_1903.HEIC

So far for me i would say from amps I've owned; 1. Markbass Littlemark 3. Love the sound of Markbass stuff but not sold on the looks and reliability of them after having a few issues with mine from brand new. 2. Orange Terror Bass. I have only had it a couple of weeks but really loving the amp so far. 3. Ashdown CTM300. Loved this amp a lot paired with the matching 810 but found the EQ a little limiting for me personally at the time. I did have a Fender Super Bassman briefly which I really liked but didn't get a chance to gig it or even band rehearse with it due to covid but that could've maybe been number 1.

Picked this up earlier today to replace my ampeg setup, really surprised with how good this head sounds and how loud it can get! Just waiting to find some Orange cabs to match now

Up for sale is my Ampeg rig! I am only selling this to raise further funds for moving house in July. Overall in very good condition with some minor wear and tear as shown. surprisingly light and stupidly loud setup. Would be interested in trades possibly for Orange bass cabs Please PM for any offers or trades. Ideally collection only from Grimsby but can deliver myself for fuel cost.

2nd hand HX Stomp is the way forward!

I have my eyes on either a Terror Bass or little bass thing from Orange, they both seem like solid options. Just awaiting my ampeg rig to sell before buying.
