  1. As the link wasn’t working here’s another pic of my bass..😊
  2. That is absolutely gorgeous skb. It’s taken me ages of playing to get comfy with the filters, but for me it’s worth it.
  3. Donny Hathaway live with Willie weeks on bass. Great tunes, groves and tone...whole band are great.
  4. Great idea!
  5. Congratulations Alan, nice to see the basses getting more recognition. Still love picking up my recurve, a total joy to play.
  6. For me the point in the video is about the why, to stop people and make them think about the costs and differences. Almost weekly there are threads about whether X is worth the money or whether Y is overpriced. Ultimately, it comes down to how much you are willing to pay, and for handmade/boutique/luthier built instruments electric basses are relatively inexpensive. If you haven’t bought one..ask a double bass player how much his handmade one off master built to his exact specs cost...different ball game all together
  7. Gorgeous basses..every time I pick up my ACG I am stunned...lucky man Eude.
  8. Cheers guys, I would be surprised if this was my last.....
  9. Nice bass. Nothing feels like a p bass
  10. Thanks, it sounds and plays every bit as nice as it looks. Skelf is the man when it comes to bass building. Do yourself a favour and try one the next time you are after a new bass. So much bass for your money.
  11. Nice bass, I love those scratch plates.

  13. Thanks Skelf, more pics soon, busy with stuff out with the interwebs guys...sorry
  14. Just back from a trip to Moffat to pick up a new bass. ACG recurve 5. What can I say, plays easy, sounds great and looks amazing. If you are in the market for a new bass give Alan's basses a try, they are up there with the best I have played. How do I share pics??
  15. 2 fours (p and j), 1 five (stingray) and one fretless (status electro 3)
  16. Great, never heard of this guy before but I loved it. What a tone from that Roscoe too.

    Knobs!

Hi I have lost one of the knobs on my MXR bass compressor, any ideas where I can get replacements?
  18. I have fender n3 noiseless pickups and the active 3 band that goes with it. Pm me if you want me to send them.
  19. Hopefully things will sort themselves out soon Bubinga, I have been in the situation where I had to choose between a second job and my only bass and it was tough times.
  20. I have a status electro 3, it has a piezo and a mag pickup. I use a fishman platinum pro and it works wonders for the signal.
  21. Loved those vids..such a unique tone to a fretless guitar. Wonder why it isn't more popular.
  22. Hi I have a question for owners of Warwick alien basses. Can the five string bridge accommodate strings tuned e-c rather than b-g?
  23. Well said Bob. Gig if you want to gig, noodle if you want to noodle, as long as you have fun.
  24. I was in Chris's workshop today, saw the body. Wow great shape and what a colour. It's going to be a beaut when it's done.
