Hi guys, I wanted to lean on your consummate experience, I'm playing a lot of guitar these days and looking to get my gigging rig sorted out. I've been using a Reidmar 250 (which i love tonally both on bass and guitar), and it's plenty loud enough for now. I've toyed with getting a dedicated guitar head, I'm wondering if I really need to as the Reidmar is freaking awesome and I use a Quad Cortex which has great amp sims onboard. I love the reidmar, it's got the best amp EQ I've ever used, it's just the sound I want. Now I have a 1x12 EBS classic cab, and I mean it's OK, I'm not sure whats going to happen when I really start pushing it, plus it's sligtly leaning towards the vintage side, which is fine but I'm looking for a slightly sharper sound. I'm wondering what bass cabs would do this well, I'll be playing punk rock, classic rock and metal. And on my bass the same, as well as funk. I thought a Barefaced 2 x 10 or 2 x 12 might work well, but you guys always have great suggestions, so I'd like to hear your thoughts. Something that doesn't weigh a f*king ton would be nice. 'One amp to rule them all, one amp to find them, One amp to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.....' 😈

I started playing guitar last year as well as bass, I've been running through my EBS Reidmar 250 and a clasic 1x12 cab and it's handling it fine (although I haven't really pushed it yet), and it sounds very good to my ears anyway. I'm using a quad cortex for most of my sound scaping and it's excellent, but I do like the EQ on the Reidmar, it's really effective and easy to access. I'm just wondering about other bass setups that would work for both Bass and Guitar as I can see myself potentially in a situation where I'm swapping instruments during a gig, but I don't want to lug two amps around. I'm thinking Darkglass stuff might work well. And I'm a big fan of solid state stuff with amp modelling. I'm not against valve amps, I love them, but I love the portability of class D amps. I'm going for crunchy metal modern tones, to be honest the EBS pretty much nails it, but I think I might go for a 4x10 bass cab for a potentially better dynamic response. I know guitar stuff is probably out as my bass will tear it a new one.😬 Just thought I'd ask the community as you guys usually have interesting ideas and good advice. Thanks

It's a great instrument, but I'm more of a jazz guy, I and I have too many instruments. It's in very nice condition overall, there are a few minor marks in the paint which i've captured in the photos which were there when I bought it (I've looked after it), but whatever, they're not really noticeable, not where your hands fall, and reflected in the pricing. It's got some very classy upgrades, EMG Geezer Butler pickups, Gotoh lollipop tuners, Fender high mass bridge, new mint pickguard that still has the protective cover on it, strings are NYXL 45-105 It's got a very nice neck, its very well setup and it sounds great. I recently got a nice case for it as I don't like sending instruments without them, hence the slight price bump recently. You are more than welcome to come and try it but I'm a bit far north, perfectly happy to demo on whatsaap or zoom if you like. This really is rather nice at this price point, IMHO. Any questions just ask. 😊

An awesomely powerful unit, overkill for what I need. It's never left the house, and it's in IMMACCULATE condition. Just updated to latest software version CorOS 2.2.2 You're welcome to come come and try it, but I'm a bit far north, so I realize that might be difficult. I can demo it using whatsaap video call if that helps. Price includes postage (insured) in the UK. Any questions just ask. 😊

I had this (once pristine) Contemporary Jazz 5 string which got damaged in transit. I don't want to repair it, but it might make a nice project for someone that's interested or someone that has a spare neck kicking around. The original neck is beyond repair, but the body is mint and all the hardware is here. Her'e's a link to the model. https://www.andertons.co.uk/squier-contemporary-active-jazz-bass-hh-gunmetal-metallic

Yes you're right, I don't know what I was thinking. 😂

I tried LaBella Roundwounds on one of my basses and I like them, I've heard a lot of good stuff about their flats, so keen to try them.

UPDATE...put those Rotosound flats on my P bass, I've got to say, I'm liking them a lot. Neck may or may not need shimming to counteract the tension, too early to tell, love the feel of them, loving the sound. Thank you everyone for the advice. I might put flats on another bass now.
