If it's your first time recording then I think it's great. Perhaps the drums could be more upfront and the vocals slightly back in the mix, but it's all pretty clear and should be a good demo for getting gigs etc. Nice one!

I certainly wish I bought a couple - I've got too many amps tbh but there's something so appealing about these miniature amps. iirc Ashdown are bringing out a new version of the superfly that is already bridged but if the mod is cheap enough it's got to make the superfly more appealing (I'm sure I've read about this and it's a bit more complicated than people hoped) Cheers John

hehe - I favour either alphabetical or size - the difficulty is choosing whether to use the manufacturers name or the pedal name or do you go largest to smallest or get bigger... you realise you probably have the deposit on a house there (and I'm fearing the roadie that can carry the pedal board)

\m/ Excellent - I like it.

The new album is great and there is now a ltd edition with a dvd that includes a vid showing them recording it. There are so many great albums that I'd probably suggest one of the compilations - the last live cd or dvd from the R30 tour takes a lot of beating imho. Cheers John (I'm seeing them in Newcastle, Sheffied and Manchester )

It would be really interesting to find out which shop this is - the level in incompetence and lack of any sort of common sense means I'd really like to avoid ever buying something from them.

Hi, This has been taken out of the box and put in a rack but never left the house. Absolutely as new, boxed etc. Easy to use, nice clear display and seems very accurate. £45 posted. Pics to follow when my camera battery charges up. In the meantime here's the manufacturers blurb.... I've just started reading it - first impressions are very good! Whoever takes up your offer is going to be very happy. Well done for your generosity!

For bass gigs I use the Hercules dual grabbing hanging stand and for guitar gigs I use the Warwick fold up frame 5way stand. (unless it's a tiny stage, then I use the baby fold up herc stands). The Hercules grab hanging stand is superb but I sometimes wish it took up less space, the Warwick one seems to feel more compact. Both do the job but the Hercules feels more secure so unless space is an issue I'd get the hercules. Cheers John

Glad to see it went to a "local" should be an awesome setup - looking forward to a review. and the status is very nice - now thinking I need another 5 string :-) Cheers John

damn and blast - I assumed this would go for a lot more and didn't follow it. The power amp winner looks familiar though - Gary is that you? Shame to split the rig up though.

Quick question about the VMJ's.... How would you describe the neck profile? Especially if anyone is familiar with the Geddy Lee Jazz - I'm curious how thick (front to back) the neck on the squire is. Thanks John

+1 I've got the little fold up stands in my gigbags and the double tall stand that holds the bass by the headstock - really sturdy!

Eden Traveller WT-300 I think

Ordered - this sounds really interesting. Thanks for the heads up. I don't suppose anyone has seen any video footage out there? and Alun, I've just realised who you are... ..like many people I'm eagerly waiting for news on the Panic Room album and some gigs... any news? Cheers John

Awesome! When I see things like this I start to seriously consider getting a single cut. Hope you don't have long to wait until it's finished Cheers John

I see there are a few bits of software starting to appear that allow an easy conversion of the 2 stereo recordings - front and rear into a 5.1 surround mix. I've got plans to try a live dvd at some point in the future - not bad for a £125 box.

That rocks - I hope it plays as well as it looks! Superb!

The zoom H2 arrived here last week - I've yet to try it with a band but initial tests suggests that it does just what it's supposed to - high quality recordings and easy to use. I'm looking forward to experimenting with the 3d - 4 channel channel recording wihch looks to be really simple- just add press the button to add the rear mic's (should be good for getting some crowd noise at live recordings). If you don't want to add external mics vai xlr then the h2 is perfect for quick and easy recordings. Cheers John

IN the fx loop will probably work best. The signal from your bass will probably be too quiet and need a preamp before the dbx Cheers John
Just wondered if anyone knows what make bass in this video - looks pretty cool to me!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcmH1LdPNKA
Agreed - I'd buy one. I think it's a Robin - wich would make sense as the band were from Texas http://www.robinguitars.com/ToddPipes.html Cheers John
