It's a (Nissan) car paint, so there's some alignment with the Fender origins(!). If you search for real life examples it looks closer to the accepted Burg Mist than the thumbnail above does.. I like it.

    I second that!

Yeah it's not quite working for me alas.

I've noticed a fair few of the colours have a different take on them than the shades normally associated with Fender e.g. LPB, the greens etc etc. The surf green was really subdued when I expected it to be really bright

Anyone out there in the Maruszczyk community ordered / owned / seen one in Burgundy Mist?

Colour is on my shortlist but know it's open to interpretation, and the configurator isn't always the best measure (combined I guess with colour variances on our monitor screens..).

Trawled their Facebook to no avail, and no pics in this thread. Would be great to see any real life examples if anyone has any pics?

I asked Adrian for a comparison of their surf v sea foam green as it looks the same on their configurator and he duly obliged with some photos. As it turned out I wasn't fond of either so went with the valley green instead.

Maybe an email is worth a punt?

  4. Here we have a 2019 Lefty Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision in 3TS with tort pickguard for sale.

This is a welcome return to production of Squier Ps since the P Special was discontinued some years ago. Bought on a whim from PMT Manchester last autumn but has barely been played and has never left the house. I recently acquired a medium scale Precision which suits me better so this is surplus to requirements.

These Indonesian CV Squiers are great instruments for the money and prices are climbing in some retailers.

Poplar body with a C-shaped tinted maple neck and laurel fretboard. This one is neither overly light nor dark, it's a fairly standard example from what I've seen. Fender-designed alnico pickup and stock chrome hardware. Weighs ~3.8kg.

    No gig bag or case.

Classic looking bass, perfect if you want a Jamerson vibe!

Can ship at buyer's expense, collection from Oldham or Manchester maintaining social distancing or I can deliver within Greater Manchester or surrounding areas within reason.

    6/6/20 - price drop to £180

  5. Just completed the purchase of a lefty Harley Benton 5 string from Graham.

He was friendly and communicative throughout and made the sale a doddle - the instrument was in my hands a little over a day after sending.

A pleasure to trade with and would have no hesitation in doing business with Graham again.

    Hi all,

Great to see this Maruszczyk thread going well!

Thinking of getting one of these basses but just want to ask whether it was easy to send the bass back if there’s a fault with it? Sorry to sound negative but as I was browsing through the pages I noticed a few people had issues with their orders (bad neck, cheap screws and forgotten options are the ones I read). As you all agree £1,500k+ is quite an investment so just wondering if it was easy to communicate and send the bass back if any fault. It’s not like I can just pick up the phone and call a place I ordered from in UK.

For the people who had a dodgy bass, did they cover the shipping back to Poland?

    Thanks

FWIW, I've got no complaints about mine. The fit and finish is flawless and it sounds and plays great.

As an aside, thanks to @wateroftyne for advice on the pickups. I'm glad I opted for the Maruszczyk HB over the Haeussel stacked J at the bridge. I love how in your face it is!!

I was playing it this morning and actually found me dialling in a lot of the HB over the P pickup!

That's good! I remember they had a period when lead times were a bit longer and they were moving to another wrkshop etc. I thought they were getting busier and that it was the end of the 10-week wait. It looks like it's still very similar.

Adrian quoted me 12-15 weeks initially but around halfway into it I received an email saying the custom shop was closed to new orders but existing orders were to be completed. This may or may not have helped to speed the build up.

Even still it's an impressive turnaround for a custom instrument

I got this 30" earlier this year. Only did 2 gigs with it before gigs disappeared plus a little home recording.

I really like the look of that.

If I went for a maple fingerboard I'd have opted for the vintage tint no question.

    Lovely bass!

  9. I must admit if I ever went back to gigging, I would have ordinarily gravitated towards MB gear.. as someone's already said, Precision & MB just work really well.

I'd be torn though, having had a quick blast through a Fender Rumble 100, I would have to seriously consider the Rumble 500 instead. Absolutely loved the sound I got from the 100

  10. I was lucky in the sense that I'd played gu*tar for a few years before I switched to bass so I knew what brands and models would suit the sound I wanted.

I'd been noodling away merrily on a borrowed right-handed Tanglewood Warrior, until a call some time later from the borrowing friend that we were both auditioning for the role of guitarist and bassist in a new band the following week!

Not wanting to look rubbish, I rushed out to Dawson's in Manchester with everything crossed and managed to pick up a new Squier P Special for around £230.

It served me well throughout the first years of the band, and even when I upgraded to a CIJ P it dutifully remained as backup and my at-home bass.

Stupidly I got rid of it when the band folded for a G&L which I couldn't get on with and I severely regret it.  It had everything I wanted; P sound, J neck. The only thing I didn't love was the colour... Antique Burst

If it had been black or white I'd have kept it.

  11. I've managed to dig my bass out this morning after over a year's inactivity and tried to busy myself with Maniac by Michael Sembello.

A simple a line as you'll play in terms of the fretting hand but my left hand ran out of steam pretty quickly trying to get the speed right. Feel like it's about to drop off now 😂
