1. is this still available?
2.
[Pull meaning, to pull string - not the opposite sex, but if done tastefully can lead to this] Garry
Why did nobody tell me this before!!!!!
3. can someone help me? on Stuart's transcripton, between the standard notation and tab, there's a sequence of t s and p s which seem to be in line with the notes. my understanding of theory is zilch so i don't know what it means? I thought it might be instruction for slap, which i ain't too great on either
4. Wot no Andy Rourke or Paul McCartney???
5. Can't fault the service at BD, it's top notch. Mark really knows his stuff and it's a pleasure to do business with him.
6. you won't regret it - my Shuttle 3.0 is great, it does lack a little power with the GB 10" speaker, but that's easily remedied once i get another 10" and it does sound quite good once you've pushed it into soft clip territory
7. thanks for the link, i've wanted to get me teeth into this cracking tune for some time now Cheers
8. he he, suppose it isn't the nicest 3TS you're ever likely to see. It's just i can't see ANY left handed player buying that with the jack where it is. What a numpty
9. don't suppose you'd be interested in a swap with a Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-10T plus cash? Anybody else fancy the GB so i can have tihs?
10. not a direct sale per se, but Ishibashi has a nice looking '75 Reissue Jazz in their u-box... except some stupid righty has buggered it up by installing a jack in the back , plus a strap button on the lower horn. WHAT IS THE BLOODY POINT IF YOU HAVE INFINTELY MORE CHOICE THAN LEFTIES DO YOU CRETIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have a looky, it's awful!
11. i think that there's so little money in selling records nowadays that "tour like a bastard" is the only way to make ends meet!
12.
This is my problem. Precision necks vary considerably between models
Yeah, i've found this - although the CIJ 62 Precision i recently acquired is pretty much bass nirvana for me, the neck feels like it was custom made for my hands - although as you rightly point out, some a a lot more baseball bat like than others. But as a Precision player coming from a Jazz, it's a really nice comfortable neck and i'm pretty certain this one's a keeper
13. The P Bass Special has a Jazz neck on it, not sure if that helps!
14. Welcome from a fellow lefty! There's a special "lefty" section in the for sale thread, that might be a good place to start!
15. Woo, could i go on the Northern list too? 'im in Manchester
16.
Lucky for me i'm a lefty and no one ever wants mine.
+1 Seriously though, you live and learn. We run our own night once a month (as well as being in a band) and for the next gig, the headliner's amp has apparently gone down and we are potentially without a bass rig. One of the other lads who is in our band suggested "Mate, can't you bring your amp down, it's only small" Yeah, my Genz Benz rig might be small but i'm fooked if i'm going to let a load of people i don't know rest pints on the top of it and generally treat it like sh*t. You're probably going to have to put it down to experience and never lend him (or anyone else) any of your gear again
17. You can't whack OBBM cables with a big stick! I love em
18. Anyone played one of these? i was thinking of picking one up to have a bit of a tinker on, seems ok for the price
19.
Maple's more desirable and I'm not greedy - I made a little money and passed a bargain on to another lefty, where's the negative?!
That's the spirit Biggsy! Now, if only i can persuade Jeroen to part with his 75 Jazz then i'll be very happy (Just kidding, i know you love that bass!)
20. Christ! Shame i bought that Precision otherwise i'd have been all over that! GAS-ing for quite a few different things at the mo!
21. +1 to the Classic Vibe / Vintage Modified Jazzes. I don't think there's been a bad word said against them in comparison to Fender MIMs. They are well made and are decent instruments. Unfortunately they don't do the CV Jazz left handed but as soon as i can scrimp enough together i'm going to get myself a VM Jazz. The one i played was unbeatable for the price - certainly better than the dodgy MIM 2009 Jazz i had which was almost twice the price of the Squier
22. The GigSkinz range carried by Bass Direct seems to be a decent bridge between the upper end Mono bag, which looks ace but pricey at £130, and your deluxe Warwick bags, which retail around £40. As soon as i get paid i'm getting one sorted out for my new Precision. They look kinda cool as well - and Mark's a sound guy to deal with!
23. Welcome to the forum - and Manchester!
24. Andy Rourke is the main reason i'm a bass player, his ability astounds me. The band i'm in did a last-minute stand in at a gig in Manc and Andy was in the audience, my head totally went but i just about held it together. Surreal experience. I'd rate my top 5 Rourke basslines as (in no particular order) The Headmaster Ritual This Charming Man There Is A Light That Never Goes Out Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now You've Got Everything Now
