The best of plus the last two albums should do you. Foo Fighters are one of those bands I admire more than I actually listen to, but I bet they are one hell of a live act.

Duplicate Post. As in this was a duplicate post, not a band called Duplicate Post.

When I play badly our PA guy has been known to mute me. In a loving spirit of fellowship of course 😅

Every sound engineer has a bad day - get one of the congregation to say the bass was too low ;-). If you have a digital desk then ask them to put limiters on the foldback outputs to protect the band - we had exactly the same experience as you did and the sound engineer at the time scurried off to the manual and set everyone up with volume limiters.

If you shot the video on a new iPhone then it defaults to a stupidly high resolution and 60fps frame rate. I think there is a settings change up in the top right where you can change the rate. Android will depend on the phone, but Samsung has an option under Advanced settings to use HEVC, which should reduce the size.

Your local school is getting a serious piece of kit. 👍

I hope that isn't a breading pair... -

Great song - weird video! Listened to John Oats talking about this film on The Rockonteurs, and had to check it out. -
I gave up the Stig alter-ego a while back. Turns out the client CEO prefers consultants to present to the board wearing the more conventional jacket and trousers rather than a loincloth. I would have played the diversity card, but I don't have one.

I'm still in. I should have bought a nice acoustic 5 string that was on here earlier in the year, but didn't and someone else has a fab instrument. As I have only played once in 6 months I can't really justify anything else. Possibly a set of IEMs next month. Maybe. Meh...

If we were to create a foot-operated device that took BC comments about purchases on this thead, and forced them through some sort of distortion, compression and other manipulation so that the purchase could conceivably be valid under these rules, would that be a pedant board?

Most of us are probably adults. We're all extremely thankful you're not our Mum. I mean - just imagine the press coverage 😲

His appearance on The Rockonteurs podcast is a great listen, very very funny. Especially his story of playing the piano at school. -
I'm pretty sure @Geek99 must have owned an amp at some point. If he has previously sold it to keep the wolf from the door (or the enforcers from the church mice loan company at bay), but is now able to replace it and eat as well then I say he is out, but would allow him to remain in, prioritising mercy over justice.

That has just arrived at the start of a long, slightly tedious, teams meeting. I must resist reading it, as otherwise I will miss the one solitary relevant sentence in the next three hours, and I have no idea when it will be or what it will be!

That's where I would point the mic for a double bass on stage, probably a foot or so back and either pointing at the sound post or somewhere north of it, depending on how much bow/finger noise there was. We had a DB at church once or twice, when one of the youth played one. He's moved on to play electric in jazz ensembles and DB with one of the big orchestras.

It would be interesting to know when that data was compiled, and the ages of the people surveyed. All the young people (<30) I know seem to be huge fans of 1980s music.

Sad to hear when anyone leaves a church. Hopefully over time they will take leading worship more seriously, and you will settle into your new home.

I spoke to the lad and he said it's way above his capabilities and wouldn't get used properly, so it should go to a better home. @songofthewind

Definitely interested - they are great units and I know a kid who would make very good use of it. I'll check with him - but if someone pips me to it in the meantime then so be it.

Where in West Oxfordshire?

That is priceless!

Fabulous live band. Saw them a while back, and seeing them again 18th June in Brum. Rocking out and enjoying themselves. Far and away the BEST quality sound I have every heard - not just live sound but better than any HiFi or anything. Crystal clear, at concert volume.

I should have got tickets for that! 🤦♂️

I would let him/her use my bass, provided they did not have a large buckle. If they did then that would have to come off or shirt untucked. But I would also have a quiet word with them afterwards and say that it is VERY bad manners to assume you can play someone else's instrument. I would also quietly enjoy watching them try to play a 35" 5 string..
