  1. Welcome aboard 😀 As a drummer and bassist, could you operate the kick and hi-hat with your feet while playing the bass? That would a) be awesome and b) make the band load-in much quicker. 😉
  2. Welcome aboard 😀 20 years in the garage, do basses age like wine I wonder? 🤔
  3. Actually it's a very clever system that lets you eq and pitch shift for every fret, thus ensuring perfect intonation regardless of tuning.
  4. That's cheered me up no end! Superb! Apart from the musicianship, she's clearly enjoying herself immensely, and Anthony Jackson's expression is just something else. Off to find more now, I have an afternoon of reading documents, so some classy music in the background will be good. Or a complete distraction.😁
  5. Routers seem to give rise to strong opinions for and against on the Build Diaries, so I figured a quick Vox Pop would be interesting to see what the majority think.
  6. If you could get white squares on the knobs it might be better than just round white knobs. If you can get square knobs that might be cool too. But it looks very good as it is 👍
  7. Just bought the 3CD+1DVD set on Amazon. I only needed to spend another £4 to get free postage on the cables I actually need, but what the heck! 😁
  8. Having been alerted by @Petey's reaction, I realised I had not reported back. Tut, tut. Well the short answer is that the fretboard looks better and feels nicer. My son used it on his bass and said the same thing, so we're both happy. One drop in each space between frets, gently rubbed in with a paper towel. One bottle will probably outlast me.
  9. Someone in eBay land has a got themselves a good bass there. Hope they enjoy it.
  10. Had never heard of this, but read about it in the biography of John Entwistle, so had a dig about the internet. It seems it was released on CD a couple of times but is now out of print and rare as hen's teeth. Haven't listened to all of it yet, but it's interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smash_Your_Head_Against_the_Wall
  11. Actually I quite like that - in a sort of comedy way. The strings go a bit weird at the headstock, but for a band playing fun stuff and not taking themselves seriously - that's OK by me.
  12. Welcome aboard. Lots of EUB players here, so I'm sure someone will help sort you out. 👍
  13. Vell, speaking as your psychoanalyst, I haf to ask - are you perhapz feeling frustrated in some vay?
  14. Well it was just you. But now that's stuck in MY head as well!
  15. I have to admit that my reaction to Nautilus (the starting piece) was the same as the drummer in the corner initially adopted. I enjoyed the others though. Maybe it's just too early in the morning for slow-build tracks 😉
  16. Yes, that's what I bought. I keep thinking I should learn the bass part to So What, but will probably never get round to it 🙄
  17. Surely nobody was ever seduced by skiffle? Though if older BC members have tales of persuading the lasses, to the strains of "My Old Man's a Dustman" on the Dansette, then I stand corrected. And "Diggin' up my Potatoes" was quite raunchy for the time.
  18. That's a great story! I bought Kind of Blue in early 2001 and played it to death. Then started working though Miles' earlier work, then to Bit ches Brew, and still finding new albums and things. Off to play Big Fun now 🙂
