  1. I meant the A3 printer @zbd1960 bought at the photography show. 😁 (If you hang around on this site for too long you'll notice that the question "Is it any good for metal" is mostly asked about things that are obviously useless for playing metal bass lines on. It's a sad in-joke, and yes we really should grow up)
  2. Is it any good for metal?
  3. I sold Terl Bryant a bookcase for £1 on ebay many years ago! It was no reserve value, collection only from Solihull. He picked it up in a big Saab estate and said he had come up from the South Coast, but that was OK as he was playing a gig in (I think) Wolverhampton. Obviously I asked what instrument and who with, and we chatted about music in general and Graham Kendrick in particular. A few days later a CD of The Acoustic Gospels came in the post, with an accompanying letter. Lovely chap. This is still a CD I play regularly, especially around Easter. I wonder if he still has the bookcase?
  4. That is a good deal on the Ibanez. I hope someone else falls in love with it and goes home happy. @Kyndainverse - NBD post with pics please!
  5. I shall see if I can get over tomorrow afternoon. The weather was too bad to paint fences, so I cleared a lot of indoor jobs. Hopefully that means I am allowed out to play 😅
  6. Of course, others may think differently. We'll just have to take 'em on!
  7. No way will replacing ear plugs kick you out of the Abstinence challenge. Even if they were a new purchase and you weren't replacing them I would make an exception for safety equipment.
  8. Last year the music shop stands had quite a lot of basses as well as guitars - way more than I expected. Fair Deal Music from Brum, Absolute Music from Brighton, and of course PMT.
  9. https://m.xkcd.com/2038/ It's from this cartoon. I had a t-shirt made up with it. I used to be a physicist, and stil pay the IOP subs, but I went to the dark side (IT) in 1999.
  10. Anyone going to the Guitar show this weekend? See the events thread for more info.
  11. I still hope to go Saturday afternoon, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. ☹️
  12. Printable versions of the badges, should you wish to use them Basschat Lanyards.pdf Basschat Lanyards.docx See you there on either Saturday or Sunday afternoon - assuming I get my fence painted...
  13. I could post a link to Murder on the Dance floor - but the lockdown licks video is more interesting.
  14. Looks great @Manton Customs - see you there (I hope)
  15. Welcome back! We seem to have an ever increasing number of members from South Wales. I'm not sure if the Bass Bash Cymru is taking place or not. @Stub Mandrel ?
  16. Just found @Happy Jack's post on this too.
  17. I've never heard of FretFX, but having looked at their site that is a neat option. https://fretfx.com/ Right now it says they are not accepting orders and are clearing the backlog from the pandemic! When did you order yours?
  18. Sound on Soujnd: Recording Random Access Memories There is a reason it sounds like a million dollars.
  19. Which day I go is now dependent on the weather, as I have 70 yards of fence to paint this weekend 😞 I'll get a PDF of the badges uploaded today.
  20. I have assorted reference tracks I use for PA setup. Bat Out of Hell is one I use - not because the mix is especially good, more that I know exactly how it should sound. Top Tip - Never use Daft Punk's Random Access Memories as a reference album.- the production on that album is so good that it sounds great on anything from a stadium rig and very expensive hi-fi, through ear-buds to rusty tin cans. I've listened to it a thousand times, and I still don't know how they do it.
  21. It means you have a system that would make many church sound engineers envious.
  22. At our church the church is buying the IEM amps, and then people use what they want in their ears. But it isn’t mandatory, and a lot of the vocalists prefer a wedge monitor.
  23. But presumably custom moulded buds only fit certain drivers? The KZ-ZS10 is good enough as a driver for £40, what price a custom bud and would it fit?
  24. Thanks everyone- and @Madein1962 for the Ric-specifics. Given that the bass isn't getting a lot of use at the moment, and it still plays very nicely, I think the best plan is leave things as they are, but to get at least a couple of luthiers to look at it and scope them out regarding their expertise. If they can do the work properly then get them to provide an estimate for future reference.
