  1. A nice antidote to dealing with frustrating device driver issues this morning. 😎
  2. I don't know which day I'll be going, and probably won't until Friday evening. I've got things on both mornings. If I remember I'll wear my Bass Bash t-shirt, which would cover up the nipple clamps. We could make up some BassChat badges in standard ID size. I have a slowish day today, I'll see what I can design and post a couple of ideas here.
  3. Walshy's died and you're appearing on Strictly??? 😭
  4. I have borrowed an early 1970s Rickenbacker 4000s. It is fabulous, sounds absolutely huge and is light years better than any other Rick I have ever played. This has cured any GAS I had for owning a Rick, because I know the owner would never part with this one and I can't imagine finding another that's this good.
  5. They won't allow fat basslines anyway. (I'll get my coat)
  6. I really enjoyed reading that - and what an excellent finished bass.
  7. Brilliant - I'm stealing that! 😁
  8. There are a lot of us here who play primarily (or exclusively) in church and it's a tremendous privilege to lead worship, and we do like to celebrate that. If you've read a bit of this thread you'll appreciate that quite often it's also a place to let off steam or ask for advice on "situations." Cahon and organ? I would have done the same as you and just enjoyed singing 😁
  9. Thanks for posting that. More details in that interview than on the BBC.
  10. An excellent moto for bass players, as well as for programmers.
  11. I feel your pain, I do think modern programming is so much quicker than all the low level stuff I remember. Started programming on a ZX81, so yes I remember when memory was tight, men were real men, programmers were real programmers and small furry creatures from Alpha Centuri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centuri.
  12. Welcome aboard! What does an an acoustic guitar sound like through that rig?
  13. The Fender is OK, but I definitely prefer @Andyjr1515's bass.
  14. Welcome back. I'm off to the build diaries... 🏃‍♂️
  15. And if @Geek99 is run over by a Maserati test driver while hitchhiking through Italy, disguised as a nun to evade intepol, on the way to make his purchase...? Silly jokes aside - it is a thing of beauty.
  16. Just spotted these on the recycling thread.
  17. That is a very cool looking bass. Hopefully it's all electrically OK and you can do a sympathetic restoration. I'm really interested in how this turn out.
  18. Utterly daft. I liked it a lot. 😁 And by way of searching about the group I came across the wonderful term "plunderphonics".
  19. Can you post photos? The cab and the intended new handles? Offhand I can't see why you shouldn't just be able to change the side handle on a cab, but I am probably missing something.
