David Gilmour to crowd: "Please welcome Roger on bass"

I had to read that twice before I realised that the word "application" in this case was the sort to be written in English, not code π€£. Best of luck!

Repairs needed: Harley Benton 5 string stingray copy

PM heading your way @jonsparrow91. I'm hoping it is just the truss rod nut that is knackered, not the rod itself. In which case I have a cunning plan to remove and replace in situ. If it's more than that, then I will be learning about major neck surgery over the summer. Which is also good. -

I shall be purchasing the desk recording when it's out in a couple of days, I'll check. It was a fabulous gig - his reputation is absolutely justified! π

Sitting in a park outside Villa Park ahead of last night's gig. I had a conversation with a big black guy, obviously a local. Him "Who's on the bill then?" Me "Springsteen " Him "Sh*t! Really? How did I not hear that?" Me "You'll hear it" Him "Sh*t! The one white dude I really want to see!!"
-
For reference. I did shout it but, as expected, nobody heard it so it's still valid in this thread π
-
I shall make a point of shouting that as loudly as I can this evening π Bruce and the band probably won't hear me as they'll be 60 yards away at the other end of Villa Park

I would tune it EADGC, so the tension would be higher. I'll have a think about how I would repair or extract it and let you know. My in-laws aren't far from Horsham so it would give me a reason to visit them too. -
This popped up on FB this morning and for some reason amused me far more than such an obvious joke should π

I've just seen you're playing The Core in Solihull next weekend, both nights sold out there as well. I'll have to keep an eye out for when you're next there.

Him: the beer and food is good value here Her: and the toilets are really clean.

@Lozz196 thanking anyone at all from the stage. But he's a lovely chap who profusely thanks the soundman, lighting crew, roadies and event security after his gigs and pays them straight away.

Is the truss rod completely jammed in? ie: is it a fretboard off job? Would be a perfect base for a project I have in mind. -
Pics, please π. In fact there is even a special emoji :

Hope the neighbours don't mind, but today will be loud. Working at home - No meetings and an uninterrupted day to actually get things done. Better still, I bought a new CD player and amp a few weeks ago and am off to see this guy in concert tomorrow. -
I'd like to thank everyone who helped get this tour finally on the road after so long, especially the lawyers and accountants. Give them a big hand!

So the plan is to build a deliberately cheap and hopefully cheerful bitza, to keep the guitarist happy? Or to make it sound so bad they will appreciate your nice basses? πΆβπ«οΈ

Interesting reading this thread. I only play in church, if the bass failed it wouldn't be a huge deal except to me so one bass is fine. In a parallel universe where I was paid to gig then I would have to buy a spare bass and take it along, for all the reasons everyone else says. Low chance of failure, but very high impact, and easy to remediate the risk.

Welcome aboard!

Project now on hold. I was offered 2 face value tickets to see Bruce Springsteen at Villa Park this Friday, so that consumed the budget. π

Church Weekends Away are fabulous events. Glad your Church was able to do this, and you enjoyed playing.

That cheesewire strap would probably cut through his neck.

I have been wracking my brains trying to come up with a caption for this but to no avail. It just looks so utterly painful!
