  1. Dire Straits, right at the end of the 200 year long Brothers In Arms tour. They were still going for it, but definitely sounded tired. A million times better than I would have been after that long on the road mind you.
  2. Far too many! ELO 2: a 24hr weather monitoring overnight at school. The strange feeling laying out sleeping bags in the physics lab, and the teacher's distainful dislike of "In Old England Town".
  3. Active bass - straight in via active or passive DI. Passive bass - either straight in via an Active DI, or any of the emulators listed above. The Berry BDi is cheapbas chips and just works.
  4. @Geek99 - were you effectively the House Band then?
  5. I will send this on to our church worship leader,at once.
  6. Another great film, and soundtrack. The Blues Brothers were a great band both before and after the movie. I can't find the reference, but somewhere there is a quote from Duck Dunn where he recounts being criticised by a bunch of musicians for slumming it on SNL witha couple of actors. His reply was something to the effect that 1) Ackroyd really could play the blues harmonica, 2) Belushi was among the greatest vocalists he had ever worked with (think about who he worked with!) and 3) the whole band just nailed it every time. It's not on Wikipedia but must be on the net somewhere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blues_Brothers
  7. I have spent lunchtime looking at my vinyl and CDs. (Hooray for working from home!) There is nothing I used to really like that I now dislike, but plenty I used to dislike that I now have on CD and play a lot.
  8. The CD almost a permanent fixture in the car. Along with a pair of sunglasses and half a pack of cigarettes, of course.
  9. That sounds like an excellent way to live. I own 2 2nd hand basses, one was £275, one was £450. Both are better instruments than I am a player. There is an Ovation Magnum 1 that I would really like to own, at about £1600; but I'd probably hate it 😄
  10. When I press "return " on my phone when replying on Basschat it inserts tens of the damn' things. No other site, no idea why.
  11. A very smart looking bass. Hopefully you won't get stuffed at customs on import duty - I guess you don't have the original receipt for €275

  13. I probably could funk it up, but I would more likely f--k it up, so best not to try...
  14. It's a good song that we've done a few times and the congregation seem to like. Not the funkiest, though 😅
  15. https://songselect.ccli.com/Songs/4785835/hosanna/viewchordsheet CCLI number 4785835 on Song Select But you'll need a login to download the chords and music.
  16. Just a thought - if you're in Birmingham then you have the resources of the jewellery quarter at your disposal. They may not be luthiers, but there are plenty of specialists at intricate delicate work.
  17. I hate you @Andyjr1515! I am quite deliberately taking a break from social media and most non-work web browsing, including BC. I was doing well, even closing tabs that I'd opened inadvertently. Then I saw the title of this thread and just had to read it all. Is there a Build Diary Readers Anonymous? With a 12 fret programme? As always, absolutely fabulous work.
  18. Dropping out for a while. Catch up again nearer Christmas.

Looking forward to seeing you return rested and refreshed.

  19. Very nice. A couple of LEDs set behind the Pickguard and the whole body could gently glow with internal illumination.
  20. Step away from the fish puns now! And also the Monty Python videos....
