  1. More pics! 🤗 Do we get to see both tops?
  2. (You don't want to know where the James Herriot Telescope is looking )
  3. Turns out I can edit a post up to 4.2 billion years after creation, plus or minus a few days. The James Webb Telescope is looking back in time to see @ped's first post.
  4. Something like this? 24: 25: @sprocketflup 26: Son of @Pea Turgh 27: @GrahamT 28: @Chienmortbb 29: 30 : 17: @Norm 18: @BreadBin 19: Mrs. @Stub Mandrel @fiatcoupe432 21: 22: @Richard R 23: @Pea Turgh 9: @yorks5stringer 10: @Stub Mandrel 11: @Smanth 12: @JohnDaBass 13: @wrinkleygit 14: @BassBod 15: 16: @Mottlefeeder 1: @Andyjr1515 2: @TheRev 3: 4: @stevie 5: @scrumpymike 6: @Phil Starr 7: @Jabba_the_gut 8: @basstone I've only put names above where people have identified themselves or you can read the pass. If others want to own up, or prefer to remain unidentified on a public forum, either is fine. PM me if you want me to update this. (Though I'm not sure for how long after creation I can edit a post)
  5. Anyone want to help out those of us with bad memories and identify themselves in the pic? I'm #22. Bass Weights spreadsheet to follow - as I'm supposed to be prepping for a presentation and interview
  6. I have a set of feeler gauges last used to set the points on VW polo in winter 1991. Then sat unused until I did a complete setup on the bass 2 years ago. The bass is due another one, but I can't recall what I actually used the guages for. The action's low, but not that low.
  7. Gail Ann Dorsey, excellent player. Good interview with her here on the SBL podcasts: https://scottsbasslessons.com/podcast/in-conversation-with-gail-ann-dorsey-from-bowie-to-brooklyn The video is members only, the audio is free, and all the podcasts are available on the usual channels. This year's aren't up to much TBH, but some great interviews in the archive.
  8. Especiallly under disco lights.
  9. The macho fragrance of ebony dust and tru-oil.
  10. Having met some real people, it's now back to cyberspace.

  11. Now that's what I call thinking! How come I can't think of things like that??
  12. The Jabba semi-acoustic fretless I played on Sunday was a lovely, lovely thing. What chance of one a little longer, with frets and maybe an extra string....
  13. With the DB? I was sat listening to you playing - sounded fabulous 👌.
  14. Looks great. Shame I can't make that bash.
  15. That would be embarrassing! I thought it might be @Phil Starr's 😳
  16. Whose little battery powered amp was this? I ought to remember but my brain's gone blank! @Mottlefeeder's acoustic Ibanez 5 string sounded lovely through it. A perfect pair for backing up an otherwise acoustic set.
  17. Welcome aboard! Nice looking bass. Never played a Sire but heard lots of good things about them.
  18. Thanks Pete. 👍 That looks like a great space! Easy to navigate to as well, which is a big plus, and very easy load in/out which is essential. If you remember to take more photos then please do. Hopefully the other group will sort their 2023 calendar out soon, so we have the date options.
  19. @petecarlton I don't think were going to compete with the SW bash on the catering, but we have a standard to aim for otherwise 😁 Any update on the venue availability in April/May?
  20. A thoroughly fab day, lots of great basses and amps. The Jabba semi-hollow fretless was fantastic, shame my fretless accuracy isn't. @fiatcoupe432's Passini with the picolo strings was fun too. However it's the people that make the event worthwhile. Talking to friends from previous events, making new ones, that's the fun. The basses are just an excuse. Many thanks to @scrumpymike and family for the organisation!
  21. Offline for the rest of today. Going to meet some real people and see some real basses!

  22. At this rate those of us getting there roughly on time will be accused of being tardy latecomers with no commitment. Especially by Frank and Stubbs, nasty pair when they get together and gang up on you. Good job they were never in the same year at school. Or the same school for that matter. Time to do an LF test then, assuming all is well, put some fuel in the car.
  23. I no longer have my Basschat lanyard. It's heroic sacrifice is documented here: I don't have the time today to print off a cool badge. I will be wearing my profile picture though 😊
