Welcome aboard! There are a fair number of members of this forum based in Spain. Off the top of my head @Bassxperience is in Barcelona, @bassalbert I think is Madrid. There are definitely others, and lots of friendly people all over the place.

Welcome aboard! If North Staffs had anything like the rain we got in Solihull this afternoon then yes, it was pretty miserable! However the sun always shines on BC

I'm cross-linking to this, as @scrumpymike has posted it on the SW Bash thread, but it might be interesting to others. The T-shirts aren't branded to any bash, are good quality, and in my experience are guaranteed to get you a "What on earth is a Bass Bash??" response when you wear them. 😁

Do I detect a very slight exaggeration for comic effect perhaps? No? Oh well 😉 Maybe just Acoustic DB/EUB Fretless 4 5/6 Weird and Wonderful

That's a great scrabble word. Or would be if it was in the dictionary.

@funkgod lots of good, and terrible, suggestions above. Have you picked a winner yet?

BBC sounds has a new series of Soul Music, this cropped up on the episode about Country Roads. Rather excellent. -

Seconded, we don't need the "Dark Theme Testing " banner now. We likes it we does 😎

Welcome back my friend to the chat that never ends, Ladies and Gentlemen: Delvar, Dadd and Seashell! I think creating a second account then tapping a mod to reinstate the first one is just a way to double your TLRTs. Most cunning.

I distinctly remember borrowing a mono LP of that from the drummer at church years ago. I put it on, knowing it was a record that changed the industry, but still expecting to hear the usual early 60's slightly thin guitar sound but with some better technique. Oh my word! It sounds like it was recorded years later. No wonder it blew people's minds. -
Bluetooth was not originally designed or specced to be low latency. Bluetooth 5, under ideal conditions, can noow manage 20ms, 40 is more likely. The aptX codec aims to keep under 40ms. If you're just listening to music then 100ms might be OK, as there is no reference visual clue to give you problems. For direct speech then 40ms is regarded as the max most people find acceptable. If this is OK for you and your playing, and your hearing aids support this, then inbtheory you're good to go. But bear in mind there will be another 20-40-80ms delay from whatever is encoding the signal from the sound desk, and that will cause the problem.

I've just spent some time trying to find reasonably accurate figures, but from memory the ratio of sales to bass sales is something under 1 in 10. Other reviews of pre-pandemic guitar shows seem to match yours, not many basses.

T-shirt arrived yesterday - thanks @scrumpymike! -
Welcome aboard, from what you lot probably regard as the far North, but is actually the Midlands! "6 String Funk" would actually be a pretty good name for a party band.

Welcome aboard! Fives are fun!

Jaw dropping, as always!

Welcome aboard! That's a hard font to read on a phone, especially for us older guys 😉. Lots of love for short scale basses here, both bought and built. Check out any of @Jabba_the_gut's builds in Build Diaries. But he almost never sells them, so no point in gassing 😥

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you have your perfect instrument, very cool 👍

Welcome to a friendly forum, and a great hobby! RAM is a superb album, one of my all time favorites on so many levels but especially the production - just staggering. It cost over $1m to produce, and you can hear it across everything. https://www.soundonsound.com/people/recording-random-access-memories-daft-punk As for new bass recommendations: pick a budget and play a few to find what feels right in your hands. Anything by Yamaha or Ibanez will be good, but others will have played more basses than I and can make suggestions. When you have one, just play it - and stay away from the marketplace for a couple of years... 😁
