  1. But @SpondonBassed and I are also bringing an additional person each, so the numbering is out straightaway.
  2. Welcome aboard! Loads to learn, get frustrated with, much about with, and get satisfaction from. Much like learning any skill, but bass is cooler ๐Ÿ˜Ž. StudyBass.com is a great place for a beginner as it Scott's Bass Lessons. The former is free, and has a great section on avoiding injury. Useful for those of us who picked up the bass much later in life and have realised we aren't invincible ๐Ÿ˜‰
  3. My lad Dave wants to come along, he'll bring his bass. Might get a couple of other hangers-on as well to make up a car-load. ( @nickmew? ) @Richard R - Brawley Artemis 4, Brawley Artemis 5, EBS Session60 amp, something to weigh basses with. + son with his Westfield of some sort. @Frank Blank - Rob Allen Mouse Fretless, Rob Allen Mouse Fretted, Ibanez SRC6, QSC K12.2, HX Stomp. @Stub Mandrel - Fender Performer, Hohner Jack Custom V, Deathburger (HB kit build), TE 1110 combo? @petecarlton - Mayones Cali4 "Puzzle" Bass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYAvWZGwc4s&t=13s&ab_channel=BassTheWorld.com @Teebs PRS Kingfisher bass, Godin Passion RG-4 RN (It haz arrived! ) @SpondonBassed - Jack. Cakes @Oldman -RUACH NT 35โ€ Unlined Fretless Custom, head and cab @NickA Since the last one.. got a second Wal with an extra string and those weird metal things in the fingerboard ( supposed to help you play in tune I think, but cause all kinds of problems ). So, yes, please. I'll be there; Couple of Wals and some pjb amps. @Geek99 - POSSIBLE ... Ampeg AMP, bass-doc built relic P, homemade jazz with geddy lee pups, zoom b2.1 @bnt - TENTATIVE - Harley Benton MP-4EB Enhanced "Shamberg" w/ EMGs and its own Ryanair seat, tc SpectraDrive. 16 confirmed on this list, plus the few others who have said they want to come but haven't added themselves yet. Should be good. ๐Ÿคž
  4. I know what you mean about wanting the set. ๐Ÿ™‚ bought the 5 string version of my four string earlier this year and I've put the four string away to learn to play 5. There is I think a fretless, but I'm not accurate enough even with frets!

    Hi-

Welcome aboard! Sorry I don't understand - why is playing a Warwick "backsliding"?
  6. Very smart. And a great trio of guitars. ๐Ÿ‘
  7. Victor Borge?? As in The best Piano performance ever! -Victor Borge - YouTube
  8. Welcome aboard! From "Kill David Hasselhoff" to "Green grows the Laurel" - that's quite a variety. Though it sounds like you could drive to gig in Reading intending to sing the latter, but arrive at the venue in the mood for the former.
  9. You tripped over one in a music shop? You were sent shopping and hadn't realised you were supposed to buy fish? Do tell. And of course: Welcome aboard!
  10. Your assuming the heating works. This is not always the case in UK churches, particularly the Norman ones ๐Ÿ˜‰
  11. We need a new emoji-thingy to say: This Thread Urgently Needs Sound Clips!! Anyone capable of making one?? Like this.
  12. In that case you can proudly ride off into the sunset with your head held high, the mini amp on the saddle behind you and the U-bass slung across your back. Best wishes, please don't feel the need to reply to this post, otherwise we're into long goodbyes...
  13. Much of the web is toxic. I've found BC to be very good natured and supportive, but if you're bowing out we wish you well. Take care.
  14. Welcome aboard! Bass and drums, drums and bass. Who needs the rest of them, just ear-candy at the best of times. What do you throw a drowning bass player? His amp.
  15. Welcome aboard! Very sorry to hear of your problems. As said above though, everyone is welcome on BC and I hope you're able to join in and feel at home.
  16. There was me thinking "Left handed Thumb 6" was the coolest intro ever on Basschat ๐Ÿ˜ Welcome aboard
  17. The first track on the "BC Bash Blues" compilation LP.
  18. True actually, I don't think anyone was wearing a metal buckle now I think about it. Or everyone had their shirt hanging out.
  19. They were truly stunning instruments, good man for bringing them along and allowing people to play. I didn't dare play them. Not because I have a metal belt, but because I couldn't possibly have done them justice. And you didn't look terrified, more "justifiably wary" ๐Ÿ™‚
  20. If you read the headline about events you will notice the last sentence: This is specifically to avoid buckle rash. Joking apart everyone is careful of everyone's instruments, and wandering back from the cakes to find someone you have never met playing your bass 10^8 times better than you can and thoroughly enjoying it is part of the fun.
  21. Heading to church, to untangle the mess I left on stage yesterday, will reply when I get in later.
