    Or "Headstock Blues"
  2. I was in GG in Birmingham a while back and while my son tried out various acoustic guitars I messed about with their selection of basses. There was a matt black headless 5 string, possibly an Ibanez, which I absolutely loved the sound of. But I still, just, hold to the rule that I can't properly play the two I own, so I can't buy another.

That photograph would make an absolutely brilliant album cover!!
  5. Cars are for driving, instruments for playing. And while it's nice to own some stuff as a collector, it's better to drive fast and play loud. 😎
  6. I was waiting for @Reggaebass to comment on Leicesterfarian. 😁
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. Good grief! I really, really, really, need to up my game in 2022. These are all excellent.
  9. Not sure how you feel about blatant copyright infringement, but I have the first half of the building walking basslines as a dodgy PDF, copied from the local library some time ago. PM me if you're interested.

    Good choice 👌
  12. That is gorgeous! But I'm not playing the basses I have enough, and I've never played fretless. Have a bump though 👍👍
  13. Welcome aboard! As you say, learn to play what you got. Then spend your pension on GAS 🤯
  14. Very nice! You have to bring the Jazz 5 and the dragonfly to the next Midlands Bass Bash. No excuses!
  15. It looks OK to me too. Would be interesting to play it.
  16. Pics, or a link?
  17. In: Brawley 5 string 😁 Out: nothing Not practiced or played enough though. ☹️
  18. Welcome aboard! Lots of Brummies, Silhilllians, and Midlanders on this forum. There isn't a "find a basschatter by postcode" search (thank goodness), but we're about. Try to get to the next Midlands Bass Bash if you can (see the Events forum). And enjoy yourself, I started aged 50-ish too. 😎
  19. You got off lightly! I had to wander all around church following a 3 year old in a star costume while I was dressed like this:
  20. I've been listening to a lot of 70' and early 80's electronica over the last few months. Tomita, Vangelis,Jarre. All superb stuff.
  21. Mamma-Mia 2, which I am not watching but other are. The aural equivalent of passive vaping.
  22. Just got in from Carols By Headlights, organised by Olton Baptist Church in Solihull. Great band, playing from a trailer with a proper event PA and broadcast on local FM to the car radios. Good bass mix too.
  23. Given that Bach was a fugueing genius it is far more likely that any riff any of us ever write, he already had. Which is sad in a way, but solves any future copyright infringement cases.
  24. Bible on the phone, the Mixing Station app for IEM if I'm playing. If I am running the livestream then the phone is on silent but available for texts from whoever is monitoring YouTube. We used to get texts when we started, but virtually never now as we're more experienced. Mixing Station works with our Qu32.
