there's no bad music, just music I like and music I don't, so don't go around dissing other peoples work

I suspect this will be the last Stones album, it has a certain symmetry, that they gone back to where they started, not a big fan of the blues and I won't be buying this record, but good for them I say

scooped and trebley, sounds great on it's own, disappears into the mix when everybody else kicks in, especially with overdriven guitars, be prepared to be disappointed if you get near this tone, just my opinion of course

we've been using Wharfdale Titan PA speakers for about 10 years, no issues at all, oh apart from the speakon sockets, not much help to you though

I've listened to the album on Spotify but I'm not a huge Bues fan, I soon get bored with it but don't find it annoying

I've noticed a small one in mine too, I had success using Araldite on a Stingray case

never fancied old basses just because they're old, I think why should they be better than something that's had years of development, same with classic cars, poor heater no air con, power steering etc etc, but I've recently got into Trace Elliot amps for some reason they just sound better than my Fender Rumble, to me anyway, and they certainly look better

[/quote]this is also my situation, I did get to see Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at Rock City though and they did a few Clash songs London Calling and Safe European Home to name but two, I liked all the first album most of the second and some of London Calling which is more than an awful lot more than a lot of bands I've checked out. If you don't like the Clash that's fair enough, we all have our own tastes, but I wouldn't go on a thread about Funk and Dance slagging off that music because it's not my thing, as someone on here said "there's no bad music just music I like and music I don't"

I would add that in all my years of doing it, I was never aware of any bands being intentionally given bad sound because of bill rating, although I did hear a few stories of guys doing it because the bands had been hostile to them. I never did this, because it wasn't in my interest to ever give punters a bad gig, although I have been known to cause feedback through a monitor in a soundcheck because the prima donna singer was claiming his mic wasn't on...."[i]sounds like it is working to me..."[/i] I have had headliners refuse to have their backline moved before even though the venue stage was not big enough to have two on it in a "don't they know who we are" kind of way - we also ignored them and moved it when they weren't looking! As I've said many times before, there can be a raft of reasons why it can be one gig sounding totally different from the next, and it is not always the sound person's fault. depends on ohms and stuff like that, I presume with 2 cabs you're running at 4 ohms, I'd settle for a 500 watt head at 4 ohms, plenty loud enough for a medium size venue and you'd still be ok to use just your 500 watt cab if you wanted, basically if it's starting sound distorted you speakers will probably blow, well that's my opinion anyway, unlikely though with that amount of power on tap

Ah, the law of diminishing returns, there's a lot of self delusion going on, if you've paid a lot more for it it must be better, I've been as guilty as anyone, who wants to admit, especially to ourselves that we've wasted our money? one of the benefits of having less than perfect hearing is that I no longer suffer from it
