I've got a zoom B1on, only about £40, you can spend hours messing about with it, finished up just using 3 settings, all variations on the overdrive setting with EQ, slight overdrive most of the time, a Stranglers setting, bit more overdrive, and a Motorhead setting, a lot of overdrive lol, but it really does practically everything, but in the end I finished up deciding bass players don't really need a load of effects. I play in a punk covers band btw

My band use a yamaha EMX 512C with 2 wharfdale 15" titans and 2 unbranded foldback monitors, vocals (3 mics), bass drum and guitar through it, easy to set up does the job

I'm not familiar with this software, but assuming you can't increase the volume on your final mixdown, compression and limiting could be the answer

thing I don't understand is the last 2 times it's been listed it says 'best offer excepted' so why is it being re listed and has he paid ebay's selling fee? or has he excepted a shill bid of say 1p? if so what's the point?

there's a similar thread going on about unreliable people in regards to looking for a new band, I can't stand unreliable people (unfortunately like bad time keepers they'll never change) it's just plain bad manners to keep letting people down so I know your pain

no I don't do playlists either, just got my mp3 player on shuttle, it's got about 5000 tracks on it, quite like not knowing what's coming next

very very very annoying, we have a google calender that all the band can access, works most of the time, our singer insists on a normal diary as well so he cocks up occasionally but he does most of the bookings, so he has to sort out his own mistakes, all I can say is guitarists are the easiest members to replace, and no, he has no right to object if you made it clear that band calenders need to be up to date as you're booking gigs,

have you tried advertising yourself?, give your age and what you're looking for, nothing to lose have you? I got back on the horse at 53 that was 10 years ago and this will be our busiest year for gigs, you might have to settle for a covers band though

making an effort to dress up a bit helps IMO, nothing worse than seeing a band looking like they've just walked off a building site (and the regulation black T shirt with some bands name on, scruffy ill fitting denim jeans and dirty trainers isn't much better) makes it look like you really can't be bothered

if people don't reply forget them, they'll always be unreliable, I don't expect a reply then I'm not disappointed, and if you get to rehearsals and they haven't learnt the parts dump them, if people aren't enthusiastic at the beginning of a project you've probably got no chance with them

you don't have to smile to but make it look like you're enjoying yourself, moving around or even tapping you foot can do it, cool and moody might have worked for a young Bill Wyman etc, but we haven't all got front men like Mick Jagger, I seen bands that look like they would rather be somewhere else than doing the gig (and it's usually the bass player), it's not good, I always say if you don't look like you're enjoying it how can yo expect the audience too? But you say you had a storming gig, so the band must be doing something right, are you all a bit miserable or is it just you?

I got hold of a Trace Elliot head (paid £125 for it), says 200 watts on the back, I played my first gig with it last night ( with 2 cabs), I had the input gain on 9 (the overload light didn't flash once) and the output on 2 (9 o clock) and got told to turn down!
