I've just downloaded an old version of spotify and everything is as it should be, the only thing I can think is that somehow spotify got linked to my Windows Media player where I'd been playing the live tracks

something very strange has happened to our album on Spotify (Verbal Warning's Red Star Radio) over half the tracks have been replaced by live versions of the same tracks, I don't even know how they've got hold of them, they've never been released in any form. Has anybody any idea what's going off?

funny thing memorabilia, a lot of it's not worth anything, just gives you a warm glow knowing you've got it, one guy I used to go to a lot of Punk gigs with used to write the name of the band we'd seen on the wooden chip fork he got when we stopped chips on the way home, he's till got them!

saw all the punk bands around 77 and 78 but some reason missed the Clash (and the Sex Pistols but did see them at Finsbury Park in 96, that was special) but I did see Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at Rock city, a consolation of sorts

yep, I'm very loath to pay more than half the new price for anything second hand and that's if it's in good condition, of course if it's a rare item and I really want it, I could pay more, being cack handed this does happen when looking for left handed basses, I recently paid £315 for a nearly new Fender Rumble 500, but it did have a transferable 5 year warranty and there's not many second hand ones about, which is a good sign if you've got one

[/quote]coated strings are supposed to overcome the problem of gunk and sweat clogging up the strings (which is why cleaning them brings back the zing), I've always found they cost more but last a lot lot longer, I started using Elixir nonowebs which are great but have moved on to DR neons because I like the colours, (it's all part of the show)

seen some shocking bands over the years, so unforgetable I've forgotten what they were called, Evan Dando springs to mind a few years ago in Derby, looked like he needed a good wash and a period in rehab, totally disenterested in doing the gig so most of the crowd were disinterested in him, disapointing, I really like his Shame about ray album and the 2 after that

over the last 6 months or so I've been recording my new strings every month or so straight onto my computer no effects or EQ using audacity (DR coated Neons), anyway I noticed when I put some new strings on in June that after a month the new strings lost their initial twang and didn't change much at all after that, I fitted some new ones yesterday (mainly because the coloured coating had come off where I hit them with my pick) and recorded them, did a 2 hour gig last night recorded them this morning again and, yep, the twang had gone not much difference between the 2 hour strings and the 6 month old ones I took off. So I guess if you want that initial twang you have to change your strings every gig, I'm glad for my pockets sake it doesn't bother me in fact I prefer it when the initial twang has gone

I do think he shouldn't be doing hallucinogenic drugs at his age, or perhaps permanent damage has already been done

We need to set it all really and play around with it as its always a rush at gigs [/quote]yeah it's always tricky trying to sort out feedback when there's already people in the room, I've been trying to get our singer to use in ear monitors but the tight arse won't buy any, one thing I've found could work is having the main speakers behind you (then you don't need monitors), I know it goes against everything anybody says but our singer's got a cordless mic and regularly goes out into the crowd (therefore he's in front of the main speakers) without any feedback problems.

depends how much messing a bout you want to do, we play pubs mainly just use a Yamaha mixer amp http://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Yamaha-EMX512SC-Powered-Mixer/6JJ?origin=product-ads&campaign=PLA+Shop+-+GENERIC&adgroup=GENERIC&medium=vertical_search&network=google&merchant_id=1279443&product_id=8479d1&product_country=GB&product_partition_id=124394595679&gclid=CLWym5i4n8kCFYU_Gwod7hsPOQ and a couple of 15" Wharfdale Titans for vocals plus backline and that's it, the last gig we did some folk said we were too loud, takes us about an hour to set up then we're good to go, that includes a few lights. I've seen bands turn up with loads of gear, mic everything up, takes them ages, total overkill IMO

I think the prevalence of high end basses on here may be due to the pricing structure, i.e. not a percentage of the selling price just a flat fee

we all slag off how much paypal charge, but I always use it when I'm buying of anyone that offers it (not just ebay), definitely gives you an extra layer of protection.

supply and demand, if people refused to buy the tickets at inflated prices it wouldn't happen, I think they could charge a £1000 a ticket for Glastonbury and it'd still sell out, people can be such suckers
