1. if big name artist are that pissed off with the payment they can just withdraw permission, no Beatles or Zep on there is there? The truth is they get exposure which means more people come to their concerts which is where the real money is made these days
 2.
there is one on ebay now Spike, £99 cos it don't work
it went for £207.24, unbelievable.
 3. the Attic in Leicester, up 2 flights of decaying unlit stairs to a small room with a full PA, to cap it all my GF came up to me to inform us that there was no power in the 'ladies' just half a dozen candles
 4. I use Alpine Music Safe ear plugs, prefer them to ER 20's, some people find them a faff to get in and out but it's not a problem I have with my Jumbo sized lugs
 5.
Oh, and cheque books. Why not bind them across the top so the stub doesn't get in the way of either hand?
My daughter had a Nationwide cheque book with the stub on the right, probably don't do it any more, not many cheques written these days
 6. yet left handed sports people seem to have the edge, guess we're better at competition than conforming, nice to know we might not be a bunch of sheep following established procedures, or it could be that right-handers aren't used to playing against lefties as much
 7.
if you get the chance to gig Ace of Spades, embrace it, it's a lot of fun strumming chords
chords in Ace of Spades? whoops
 8. I was proud to be a lefty, blame Macca, so I never tried to learn right handed, wish I had now. A few months ago I bought a drum kit and decided to play it right handed, no problems at all. I do wonder if Hendrix would have been as good right handed though. I think some people are more left handed than others, if that makes sense
 9. always been a P man myself, JJ Burnel's fault, but I saw a band called the Astronauts at a festival recently, now the bass was nice and loud but it was a Jazz, sounded so good I'm on the lookout for one now, trouble is I'm cack handed
 10. my experience with T shirts is it's hard to make money, you always finish with a load of one size
 11.
and doing that annoying 'preaching to the audience' nonesense.
that pisses me off too, are they so arrogant that they think they can tell us what to think, they can suggest, which is ok but when I get preached too in a humourless way it just makes me think they're tossers
 12. I think it's important to try and put a show on, there's nothing worse than a band that look like they've just walked of a building site, looking like they'd rather be somewhere else, if the band don't look like they're enjoying it how do you expect the crowd too?
 13. I've got one of these only in black, nice bass
 14.
There is a Fender jazz body on ebay just now with a fitted Squier VM all-maple neck.
is it just me that thinks £650 is a bit of a risk for a non standard bass?
 15. my link doesn't work anymore, it disappeared, the Gibsons still there though
 16.
It's in Hove, but will only ship to continental US, but if you are in the Dayton Ohio area you can go and see it A pissed or stupid scammer?
yeah, that's the bit I thought was very strange, as well as the do not bid without authorisation, could be a good way to bypass ebay fees though, look at his feedback, nothing wrong there.
 17. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Jazz-Bass-1964-Left-Handed-Sunburst-w-original-case-not-a-re-issue-/271266622514?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3f28c02c32 something doesn't seem right here.
 18.
What's your band, Paul? I may even have seen you guys.
Verbal Warning, I think we played on Friday afternoon
 19. last time I went to Rebellion was about 3 years ago when my band played, we did ok, the room was a lot fuller at the end than when we started, never got on since, but yeah the sound always puts me off. it's awful most of the time, seems to improve when the headline act is on, funny that, or maybe they've got their own soundman who knows what he/she is doing
 20.
I found with setting a starting price over a reserve price is people tend not to bid and they are more likely to bid if it starts at £0.99p, even with a reserve (I think it’s physiological).
Personally, if an item has got a reserve price I don't bother, not knowing how high it is puts me off, but that could just be me. I just start the auction at the lowest price I will accept then everybody knows where they stand
 21.
Bet they are making a killing! I recently sold a amp to a very nice chap on here, shortly after putting it on Ebay I got a msg through the bass chat marketplace so I took it off ebay straight away and held the amp for a couple of months while the guy got everything sorted. I sold the amp for a little less than the reserve, paid the insertion fees and probably still saved myself £30/£40 as the final fees would have been £50/£60! Robbing sods! I'm def gonna stick to using the bass chat market place!
same story when I sold my stingray, but at the end of the day you get a lot bigger market with ebay, just make sure your fees are reflected in the price you start at, or the reserve if you prefer (never seen the point in reserves myself)
 22.
I think with the combination of Royal mail and ebays greediness I dont think it is worth selling anything on ebay now if your a small private seller by the time you've sold a few little things you don't really make anything much and have the hassle of wrapping and packaging then getting to the post office blah blah blah I also think the cost of postage messes up a lot of sales as sometimes when you buy second hand stuff not just on ebay but anywhere by the time you put postage on it can be cheaper to buy a new item from the shop with free P+P than a used item 9 times out of 10 bloody robbing Royal mail,
Yep, I've got a few things I wouldn't mind shifting but the hassle of selling makes me think it's not worth the effort, in spite of what we think about ebay it is run by hard headed business men, market forces will make them make selling more attractive when they realise the small sellers aren't there anymore.
 23. I think this highlights the problem of trying out basses outside of a band situation, what sound good in isolation doesn't necessarily work in a band environment, I've found that out on occasions
 24.
Plus playing with a pick meant folk thought townshend was playing his bits as it wasn't so obvious what he was doing.
perhaps a tad less treble might have sorted that out
 25.
Thank you, I'll try that when I get home. If I can get a handle on this then I think my confidence in learning new songs will go up. How much would you slow it down by in % (as that's the option there is)?
slow it down as much as you like, there's a slider, +1 for pitching it up an octave, it seems perverse but it really makes the bass line stand out, I found out what Glen Matlock was up to in Anarchy in the UK the other day, a bit of an eye opener. Audacity is a brilliant bit of kit, and it's free, who says you only get what you pay for?
