  1. my, maybe, Matsumoku, Hondo is plywood, sounds fine, bloody heavy though
  2. except didn't he sing "Excuse me while I kiss the sky", as far as I know Hendrix was nowhere near bisexual
  3. to be fair almost all radio edit's are better, maybe another thread?, which ones aren't
  4. I know what you mean but when the song kicks back in it doesn't seem to matter
  5. I don't have a problem with that one, it's fairly accurate, to me anyway. now Springsteen's I'm on Fire is another story and a few of Stings Lyrics are dodgy as well, Don't Stand So Close to Me? but then again Rock 'n Roll was founded on well sexist lyrics from blues songs, the original lyrics to Hound Dog are, err, interesting
  6. I doubt that's what that song is about ymmv
  7. Taxman Mr Wilson, Taxman Mr Heath, the perils of using current affairs in your lyrics
  8. 93, doesn't surprise me, I constantly get things wrong in band discussions, hell , our guitarist even told me I was playing one of my own songs wrongly, and he was right 😡. I always say I do quite well for someone with no natural musical ability 😄
  9. Don't know about anybody else but the on the timing test the beat is way to loud compared to the music,
  10. Didn't know about your thread, I've followed it, although not Sky Arts specific, not a massive fan of films, find a lot of them same old same old
  11. the place to make recommendations for programmes on Sky Arts, preferable before they go out on Freeview, although not vital as they're usually repeated. King Rocker is repeated next Saturday at 1.45, Trailblazers:Pub Rock, next Thursday at 2.45
  12. once again I missed this, but it's repeated next Saturday at 1.45. Maybe we need a Sky Arts thread, where people can make recommendations before they come on edit, I think I'll do that
  13. what really annoys me about Sky, is you pay through the nose and have to suffer loads of adverts as well (not sure about Sky catch-up), at least with Netflix you don't have to suffer the ads
  14. I watch it on freeview, don't have sky, way to poor value for money ymmv
  15. anybody that missed it, like me, it's on next Thursday 2am
  16. this is the case with all open strings I've found, I prefer the sound of open A because it's twangy, whereas some prefer the dull thud of the E string fretted at the 5th fret, it is a very different sound, more than once I checked my tuning to confirm they are indeed the same note
  17. when I'm doing demos with audacity I only get it right once then just copy and paste, with a drum machine track it's straight forward I had to tidy up a live recording a few months ago, that was interesting, it was copy and paste and tempo change 😂
  18. had the misfortune to see him twice as Sham's frontman, first time at Concrete Jungle festival, we were expecting Pursey, Parsons was on guitar, thought that the guy walking around in a Millwall shirt was a roadie, most buggered off after a few songs. Second time, I gave him a couple of songs then went next door to see a Fleetwood Mac tribute, one of the few that stayed said he spent the whole gig baiting the security guys
  19. I think Richie Blackmore nicked the bass line from another song for Black Night edit, Ricky Nelsons Summertime
  20. absolutely, I once saw something worse though, somebody doing slap bass on Alright Now, on verse 😱
  21. As I understand it, although Bandcamp don't take any fee for the sale physical copy sales they inform you about, you still have to send off the CD or whatever, they do offset this by debiting your account a percentage for physical sales then they take it off any downloads, so don't do downloads I guess. Big Cartel is also free
  22. I've got a copy of Vital Idol, on vinyl, labels the wrong way on, i.e. side A label is Side B, side B label is side A, don't suppose it's worth much
  23. I did say the if it stops people having to go into hospital and dying, which will obviously only happen when the people at most risk have been vaccinated, which hopefully one dose will do
  24. if it stops people having to go into hospital and dying why can't we just treat it like normal flu? life doesn't stop for that
