  1. there's not that many Hi pass filters about from what I can see, the thumpinator looks like it's non adjustable which is would put me off, that leaves the Boughton model, which looks like you have to send off to the USA for, just wondering why they're so hard to come by
  2. it certainly was, and seeing as you are about 10 years younger than me, the start on of WWII must have been a worrying time for you
  3. most of my friends, and me, stayed at home with their parents until they got married in the early twenties usually, how times have changed
  4. we have a core of songs that always go down well, about 25, then change the others round, the thinking being that if people really enjoyed a song last time and you didn't do it be a bit like going to see a proper famous band that don't play their biggest hits
  5. I thought the point was the White guy thought all Blacks were lazy drug sellers and the Black guy thought all whites were racist but when you actually get in a one on one situation views often change, and yes I did watch it right to the end
  6. tbh I had to Google it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Snowflake Love Thy Neighbour, don't get that repeated very often but didn't the black guy normally come out on top?
  7. or not attending gigs, but that's another debate
  8. I've got a Zoom B1on and that has a parmetric EQ with a 'Q' adjuster, that controls how many frequencies you're adjusting (google it I had too) very flexible
  9. Trace Elliot GP12 does the job for me, or any parametric EQ should do it
  10. bit off topic, sorry, racism to me is categorising a whole race one way, as this video shows, all whites are racist all blacks are lazy drug dealers, obviously not true if you think about it but that's what happens, great clip from the Likely Lads that sums it up for me and blacks aren't even mentioned
  11. T'was the way back in 77, fortunatley it didn't last long, but footballers still do it if the weekends sending off is anything to go by
  12. the odd gig I go too these days I stand at the back with ear plugs in, no wonder I don't enjoy them as much
  13. what you now is take about 100 photos then dump them on FB, without looking at them, for everybody else to 'enjoy' them and be envious of what a fantastic night you've had
  14. still going through, just ordered 2 more for someone else
  15. the fact that Snowflakes get upset by being called Snowflakes proves the point doesn't it? Sticks and stones and all that
  16. I'm ok with th rap/rock crossovers, Walk this Way and Fight for Your Right to Party, but I soon get bored with a repetitiveness of the vocal delivery on the Rap songs I've tried to listen too, not being a big one for lyrics (except my own lol) and a lot of the time they're not that clear anyway
  17. couldn't agree more, they need to ban flags at outdoor festivals as well, I'd be bloody annoyed after paying hundreds of £'s out for someone to be waving a great big flag in front of me. But I do wonder at the logistics of taking phones off everybody, search everyone on the way in, take their phones and then make sure they get them back again, sounds a nightmare to me, might be better to say anyone filming will be thrown out, a few examples made will soon put a stop to it
  18. loads of songs get played differently by bands live, how many times have we watched a band doing a song and thought that's not the way I play it?, hell, even bands that recorded the song play the bass line differently when they've got a different bass player in, in the then end if you play a bass line differently to the record I doubt whether anyone would know, but it is nice to get it spot on. I've been playing Babylons Burning off and on for years, not like this but nobody said anything, tbh until the John Peel version I hadn't got a clue what Segs Jennings was playing on the first part of the chorus it is inaudible on the record
  19. that's more or less the way I've settled on playing it though I do think it's a D (on the A string) not an E on the second part
  20. have to say, not just with this, that people are worried someone will be offended when nobody actually is
  21. I do wonder if it's no win no fee lawyer, compo compo easy money
  22. should I stay or should I go, supposed to be Spanish backing vocals but complete rubbish apparently
  23. so what you boring little nasty pasty Wonder what the profanity filter will do with that? edit, now I know
  24. the point is it is used again, they cut it for a while then stopped cutting it, it is a part of history (it is a true story), we learn from history not by ignoring it but by learning from it, by seeing how things were we can see how far we've come
  25. thinking about it, it's airbrushing history isn't it? the song was of it's time that's why we like old songs it reminds us of times past, and part of the charm is the lyrics might not be acceptable in today's climate, for me anyway, I always felt a bit cheated when they took the N word out of the Dambusters film (the name of Guy Gibson's dog) the last few times I've seen it it's back in
