  1. https://www.fishman.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Platinum-Pro-EQ-User-Guide.pdf Low Cut: a variable high-pass filter, labeled low cut, I assume that means depth of cut and the not frequency it cuts from, in which case I wonder what that is
  2. forgive me for asking, how do you know the depth parameter is a HPF, once again sorry if there's already been a reason given, just can't find it
  3. well they're light gauge, the others are 40 - 100 so it makes sense
  4. didn't know that, where is it and is it on the B1on, sorry if I've missed something
  5. very punk rock
  6. I decided not to do it, it was just a thought and wondered whether anybody had tried it, anybody want a 120 DR neon pink string?
  7. yep I get that, I was just saying it goes down to 20Hz I think someone earlier in the thread said another Zoom only went down to 40Hz, altough I think you could minmize that by stacking the Ba PEQ and using a high Q, still not the same as a HPF I agree
  8. just had a look at my B1on and the para EQ goes down to 20Hz
  9. just idling thinking really, with the increased tension would you be able to lower the strings without getting fret buzz?
  10. I've just bought a set of 5 string bass strings (because they were as cheap as 4 string ones), I've only got a 4 string bass, has anybody fitted the thicker 4 strings out of a 5 string set of strings (120,100,80 and 60's) to a 4 string bass (with standard tuning)? what happened?
  11. I think other bass players always sound better than me, but then people say how come your band sounds so full and loud with one guitarist and I think, maybe I'm doing something right
  12. I get that but if it was adjustable you could use it to get rid of stuff you can hear but don't want, say anything below 40Hz
  13. there's not that many Hi pass filters about from what I can see, the thumpinator looks like it's non adjustable which is would put me off, that leaves the Boughton model, which looks like you have to send off to the USA for, just wondering why they're so hard to come by
  14. it certainly was, and seeing as you are about 10 years younger than me, the start on of WWII must have been a worrying time for you
  15. most of my friends, and me, stayed at home with their parents until they got married in the early twenties usually, how times have changed
  16. we have a core of songs that always go down well, about 25, then change the others round, the thinking being that if people really enjoyed a song last time and you didn't do it be a bit like going to see a proper famous band that don't play their biggest hits
  17. I thought the point was the White guy thought all Blacks were lazy drug sellers and the Black guy thought all whites were racist but when you actually get in a one on one situation views often change, and yes I did watch it right to the end
  18. tbh I had to Google it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Snowflake Love Thy Neighbour, don't get that repeated very often but didn't the black guy normally come out on top?
  19. or not attending gigs, but that's another debate
  20. I've got a Zoom B1on and that has a parmetric EQ with a 'Q' adjuster, that controls how many frequencies you're adjusting (google it I had too) very flexible
  21. Trace Elliot GP12 does the job for me, or any parametric EQ should do it
  22. bit off topic, sorry, racism to me is categorising a whole race one way, as this video shows, all whites are racist all blacks are lazy drug dealers, obviously not true if you think about it but that's what happens, great clip from the Likely Lads that sums it up for me and blacks aren't even mentioned
  23. T'was the way back in 77, fortunatley it didn't last long, but footballers still do it if the weekends sending off is anything to go by
  24. the odd gig I go too these days I stand at the back with ear plugs in, no wonder I don't enjoy them as much
  25. what you now is take about 100 photos then dump them on FB, without looking at them, for everybody else to 'enjoy' them and be envious of what a fantastic night you've had
