    There is a 'Steinberger specific' one out there, plastered with warnings that it won't fit wooden-necked basses (including Steinberger ones). Do they have dooty necks?

    You know what they say about men with big feet... ... small basses. But seriously, I've always just put my B2 down on its feet and leant it back against something. One of those might be worth getting, but I think I'd open up the arms, so it didn't rest on the tuners.

    Well done, looks good. Back in the 80s someone could have made a fortune selling black ash guitars 🙂 I wrapped my Hohner B2 in 'carbon fibre vinyl'. Shall we say it 'looks good from a distance'? Mind you it wasn't an expensive experiment, and reversible. I found so many tutorials online but noting that really explained how to do 'sharp corners' like those on your explorer. Any tips?

    First gig for my second band postponed from the 17th to '2022'. Good news is at least three additional gigs lined up. Other band has gigs booked for Saturday and New Year's Eve. I'm not holding my breath...

    I've made a start, but (1) my rhythm guitar is appalling from lack of practice and (2) I feel self-conscious trying to sing with my dad around making teh vocals sound weedy as anything... 😞

    For my Tele I went for pur tung oil, which dries really slowly. In the end I have used 'restoration wax' (clone of renaissance wax) to give a satin finish. Can't put it together properly until I dig out and set up my decent soldering station.

    I've used 90s and 100s. They encourage a delicate touch but I tend towards 105s or even 110s most of the time.

    Have you tried winding the mid-control down? I thought it gives a fair representation, if not perfect. Personally, I use my 'classic' TE combo with the pre-shape switched out or playing at the dusty end is mostly inaudible.
