  1. It does look nice enough to eat, the colour especially looks better in your pics. The stock picks make the colours look rather flatter and less rich. It's only just dawned on me that I've finally ordered a metallic finish bass (I don't count candy apple red...)
  2. 😃 So it is VVT noy VBT?
  3. How's that for perfect timing...
  4. I'll get my green one before Maude shares any photos 🥺
  5. Oh no! What if 'wanderlust green metallic' turns out to be a euphemism for 'metal flake clown vomit green'. I am filled with dread.
  6. Dang! So the clown vomit ones are sold ou?
  7. So "The Real Me" isn't a good place to start then? 🤔 Series my ambition is modest, probably will try some dog noises on Let's Stick Together today...
  8. Funny how all these exotic treatments never seem to make the gear sound worse...
  9. Saxon supported by Diamond Head and Uriah Heep in January. Originally was 2019 at Glasgow Barrowlands, cancelled when Biff was ill, moved to a new venue, then cancelled multiple times by covid... so 2 years and 2 months late!
  10. For years, I hated the voice of Peter White (R. 4 Disability correspondent, among other things). Eventually realised he sounds like I think I sound when recorded.
  11. Not you being confusing, PMT. I got all excited on Friday then I saw the small print.
  12. In store, up to six feet long, oak, ash, sycamore, beech.
  13. I took the new stack:-) over my brother's today. Noodling away while he played with the controls on the elf. Sounds HUGE when you really crank up the bass . In the last few degrees the gain control suddenly bring in some nice dirt as well as enough clank to make you think you have brand new strings on. This is vintage '62 jazz PUPs so might be more controllable with a hotter bass. Should be loud enough for rehearsal, gigs with a PA and a not-too-loud drummer. We did find the PJB C2 did break up a bit on the low G when you use loads of bass boost, but backing off a bit sorted it. I suspect the cab is tuned with a small peak at low G to max the response for the low E.
  14. Actually some more digging shows the live Motorhead on TOTP was Louie Louie in 1978.
  15. Yes, I saw that, but "We will ship to you as soon as we receive stock."
  16. By coincidence, it turns out my brother has been roped into BVs as well! He was given very similar advice i.g. turn down the PA, so you have to sing good and loud, so you hear yourself clearly.
  17. Thanks for all the advice folks, I'm afraid I've run out of tlrts (reactions) Have a fireworks display... 🎆
  18. Thomann had said mine would be in stock next week, now they've told me the new date is 29 December, so I won't get it until 2022 😞 My fault as I MUST have the wanderlust green one.
  19. I did that to a Harley Benton one, and it worked.
  20. One of my regrets is 25 years in the Midlands and I never did more than stand outside Robin 2 in the day time 😞
  21. Depends on the moisture content 🙂
  22. Glad to hear the surgeon put all the bits back in the right order, Blue! Welcome back. I'm assuming you mean musically? I'm just turned 59 and pretty sure I want more than another six years of music. What do you want to do and accomplish at 65 plus years as opposed to when you were 21 My ambitions are much bigger! By then I want to play some festivals and big gigs, record again (not that I ever did more than demos before) and also do a lot more one off stuff with different people. What is your focus at 65 plus, writing, performance, recording , self study I love performing. What are your thoughts on gigging at 65 plus as opposed to 21. At 59 gigging is one of the few things that makes me feel 21 again. I hope that remains true at 65! What type of folks do you want to work with at 65 plus Friendly, competent musicians.
  23. That's a good idea, I'll slip something in his beer...
  24. I think it's great. Through my 4 ohm/103dB GR Bass cab, it's very loud, plenty loud enough to gig with. Obviously not as beefy with the wee cab, and if you turn it up a compressor comes in rather than overdrive so not at all like my Orange Terror sound wise but the MojoMojo can correct that.
