  1. I've got the AT212 slim, it's incredible. That's why if I get another small cab it's ideally REALLY small.
  2. Got to be red 🙂 Plus in this era of 24 hour rather than 28 day delivery I fancy the idea of delayed gratification. The alternative is a custom green GR AT110, which would cost twice as much, but is a zero risk option.
  3. But it isn't black... 🙂 For £18 I've ordered one to see how it turns out.
  4. And look at this for a no-name Bitsa with great sound... Look at that professionally finished control plate!
  5. Your Google-Fu is weak. Try searching 'Henry Thomas Bass'. https://www.mizarolli.net/bass-lessons.html It's a terrible website, but the Henry Thomas page has his email 'prominently displayed', shall we say 🙂
  6. GM had a reputation for saying uncomplimentary things about everyone...
  7. The prices they achieve are ridiculous considering the quality and playability. Less than a MIJ Squier P-bass of the same era.
  8. I've ordered a red one, it will be about five weeks 😞 With a main loud, light cab/head setup that will do almost anything, this is just an excuse to turn my backup Elf amp into a grab and go. If it doesn't work out, I'll get a GR 110 instead.
  9. Went down a damned rabbithole, rediscovered Jet Boy Jet Girl… and noticed it sounds the same as C'est Plane Pour Moi. Apparently it's the same backing track.
  10. Can you link to the other thread? I can only find one in the for sale section.
  11. I'm needing a decent bag to take all my bits and pieces. Any recommendations for something that will take leads, mike stand, bass stand (so at least 1m long) ideally with a reinforced compartment for other gear such as a mic, tuner etc. A standard 'lighting bag' doesn't have separate storage, but I wondered about something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Organizer-Backpack-Waterproof-Capacity-Boyfriend/dp/B08P4PS1B1/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=1m+rod+case&qid=1628845495&s=sports&sr=1-6 "There is a thick sponge inside the fishing rod bag, which can protect the fishing rod and reel from damage caused by impact. "
  12. Amp bag comes with a shoulder strap. I carried amp cab and bass to the car in one go. I really need my gig box as well though, and I've been asked to do bv's. So i need to get a holdall that will take mike stand and bass stand. Then there's spare bass (probably a fretless)... I still need roadies!
  13. England only. I think I may have to go the 'phone them up' route in Wales. There is no route for complaints/queries if the system goes wrong...
  14. Hmm... I've been trying to find out some details of Phil Jones Cabs. They seem high on hype and very thin on actual figures (or independent reviews).
  15. Any good? No professional reviews out there - they all just regurgitate the same press release. User reviews seem to vary, some people say this is just a mid-range box to brighten things up alongside another cab, others say it is full range. No info on its sensitivity (or any other Phil Jones cabs, despite their website waxing lyrical about all the advanced measurement gear they have). I don't expect miracles but would this cope for a 'lounge gig' alongside, say, ~25 watts of amplified acoustic guitar and vocals if driven by a decent head?
  16. If you know the speaker part name/code we might be able to get an ideal volume/port size from WinISD
  17. I have a 2002 Squier Jazz. I set teh neck, and a couple of weeks later it was bowed again. Repeated and a couple of weeks later... I realised the truss rod must be pulling up the neck. I took it apart, after taking off the tension, considering a bit of exploratory drilling to find the anchor point. Lo! There was a small hole between the end of the infill piece and the end of the slot, metal visible. I 'injected' a cc or two of runny superglue in the hope the wood would absorb it and even swell slightly, giving the strength to stop the rod being pulled in further. That was over a year ago (I think) and I haven't had to re-tighten and actually had to relax it a bit after the recent heatwave.
  18. Careful, I'll tag Bill fitzmaurice, and you'll be in big trouble...
  19. With acknowledgement to @SpondonBassed
  20. I'm sure the guy from 1979 is David Tennant...
  21. I hate to give Gary Bushell a boost, but this gig review (Exploited) from 1981 features much mohican and a 'Punk's Not Dead' t-shirt. http://punkrocker.org.uk/punkinterviews/exploited.html This is interesting (the one mohican is mid-80s): https://www.walesonline.co.uk/gallery/amazing-photographs-show-what-like-15732480 So how frar back can I get? 1980: https://www.shutterstock.com/editorial/image-editorial/stock-3488814a Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver, 1976 - quite possibly the inspiration for punks? 1979: 1980: 1971? How about 1951? https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/mohican-hair-cut-june-28-1951-josephine-amaya-17-years-mrs-news-photo/1048017544?adppopup=true
