  1. Beautiful bass sound here, from someone who always sounds good but better known for their technique than tone:
  2. Clearly a great deal of thought and effort has gone into coming up with such an exciting and innovative solution...
  3. They haven't learned how to mute unplayed strings yet.
  4. Nah... Stew's been Seduced by Skiffle.
  5. To be fair, the question was about our experiences, not our kids although my daughter's school experiences weren't hugely better than mine, I suspect. Since school she has had drumming and singing lessons which helped her confidence a lot, and she can play some basic guitar, which is good.
  6. Showcasing his best 'Brummie face'...
  7. The worst thing about getting married (at least at first) was no longer being able to go to sleep listening to Mark and Lard.
  8. Ah yes, from The Cocktail Cowboy Goes it Alone, Dave Pegg's solo album - so it really ought to be played on a bass 🙂
  9. Dang I know that tune - Fairport?
  10. Another forum I use which has the same software limits the number of lines and images in signatures and limits links to one. It's effective in stopping people using their signature for what should be in their profile.
  11. If it has two jack sockets and 'minimum load 4 ohms' you can fit two 8 ohm cabs (the built in one is normally 8 ohms).
  12. I have a problem with mine. It's stopping me from playing my other basses...
  13. I worry my sig is over the top... I wouldn't blame anyone for hiding it. There are several people on this thread whose sigs I've hidden for being 'in my face'. You know who you are... 🤣
  14. But you have the best sig on BC Ricky!
  15. Thang Q. I knew I should have been able to place them.
  16. At about 1:00? other bits less sure. Most of it definitely picked. I suspect some of the single is synth bass, it's too 'clean'.
  17. Led me down a rabbit hole. This pre-Trevor Horn version is surely slapped at some parts...
  18. Long version. Thanks for the reminder @hiram.k.hackenbacker
  19. "White Collar ... well that was a white collar crime ... 'cos he got away with it."
  20. I've got one of those from the same year (2001) or 2002. It's actually a damn fine bass IMHO.
  21. On the plus side, by next spring I should be living half way between Midlands and SW Bass bashes. I will have to go to both. For goodness' sake liaise with Jamie so you don't both pick the same weekend!
  22. All you have to do is shape the headstock - Yes I did mine paper template, fretsaw and patience, rasp then a good long session with a sanding block. I didn't dress my frets aside from light sanding of the corners with and dry to improve the feel. I did have to cut the nut deeper, I used a scalpel and scraped it, more controllable than files IMHO.
