At last rehearsal our guitarist randomly called me a solo - he likes my walking line to Summertime Feeling Good.
I'm kind of dreading that he does this at tonight's gig. It doesn't help that the song is burned into my muscle memory in Gm and this lot do it in F#m.
Part of the reward for surviving divorce.
There's also the Blackstar Fly Bass. I have a pair(!) of ordinary Flys (Flies?) and they are good enough to play clean living room bass through at a low level.
Somewhere I have a (~30 year old) Maplin nominal 1 watt amp powered by a PP3 battery, about 4" square in the shape of a combo. It has a jack output as well as a teensy speaker, it sounded remarkably loud through my old Marshal JCM 16R 1x12
No inductive effect with coiled speaker leads (or mains leads) as the current flows both ways.
The danger is overheating at high power due to reduced airflow around the coils.
There's a Uriah Heep album where about five minutes is spent by Dave Byron to get the audiencd to shout "sweet lorraine". After the excruciatingly drawn out proceedings he says "now for the hour of truth".
Many a true word...
Disagree. My brother's band is very successful, and their defining character (which is always brought up by punters) is that dvery song they do sounds like them.
Equally the band I am in will be doing House of the Rising Sun and Summertime tomorrow. The former will bear some resemblance to Frijiid Pink but I don't think Nina Simone would be expecting our verdion of the latter...
I took part in a Battle of the Bands. The winning band werd death metal. Their music didn't win, although theycwerr very able it was the way their frontman treated a couple of hundred students like 25,000 people in a stadium and gave 100%
PJB C2.
I have a red one (hopefully) arriving in November.
Black ones in stock I think.
I have high hopes from what I have heard of other PJB gear.
Hope to use it for practice and teeny gigs with an Elf.
