    Two years ago everyone was saying Gibson are going down the river. I think this is a deliberate strategy to regain visibility for their instruments. Once Gibson & Fender were the 'top brands', but Fender have held the top spot alone for a couple of decades.

    I wanted a 335 or similar, even looked but ended up trying a Yamaha Artcore AS53... TBH my guitar exploits don't justify spending a lot and I already had a Tokai SG.

    The top end Epiphones look and sound great. For Gibson they seem to be the equivalent of Fender's made-outside-America instruments, rather than Squiers. This is true of their basses as well.

    Yep, I was at about 8 o'clock against a 50W Marshall with two 1x12 cabs. The 'loud test' was just that and I couldn't face trying any louder!

    I used to live in Branston which is pretty close to Uttoxeter/Doveridge.

    Are people staying over on the 3 or the 4 Sept? I'd prefer to do the 3rd but it may mean a bit of work juggling and/or late arrival. 4th seems to be booked up at many places.

    ? The Uttoxeter one is within walking distance of Doveridge. Stafford is miles away!

    It's used for the FX loop output (and the DI and to drive the main amp, I expect). The Clean setting is clear as a bell, so I can see no reason for fitting two 12AT7s. I should have mentioned it is incredibly loud, and I didn't even get the master volume up to 12 o'clock (gain about 3 o'clock).

    I can only report what Orange claim, I haven't heard this version. If you read the article linked in the OP it will become clear(er).

    To be really precise, the length of a day is gradually getting longer, so years are 'getting longer', if you count days (although barely changing in terms of seconds).

    Now I have the Bass Terror I only need chorus, tuner and perhaps HPF and compressor.

    Mk. II is 1 off 12AAX7 and i1 off 12AT7. In Mk. II you also need to remove metal covers from each valve. Orange say preamp valves last longer than output val;ves but no other informnation!

    Well was able to unwind the amp/cab combination tonight. Two rehearsals with two bands in a week, and loads of positive comments on the sound.

    The obvious answers are: Taper the spacer, unlikely to work even if the pickup to neck distance is large and only one pickup. Pad out neck pocket. Cut body in half cross-wise and have a step in its shape. Use different pickup. Use different neck. Pickup cover.

    I'm sure this is true. I use thumb placement to change my tone, and I can get as much variation between bridge and bottom of the neck as between pickups.
