Just found an interesting comment from myself! Four more years' experience in tone shaping and a HPF at 30Hz seem to have addressed the fab issue. I wonder how many good/bad low b tones are mostly down to settings signal chain.

A very good point. I notice at Hawkwind gigs, where they use very powerful rgb lasers, great care has clearly been taken to keep them well above the heads of the audience and to make sure they "land" safely.

I can do coloured or black decals, on transparent or white backgrounds, but not white on clear.

I wouldn't give up... fuses can degrade over time. An instant fail like that suggests inrush current. But could be a failed PSU capacitor, for example.

Looks like spots of paint or tippex on the neck dots. Clay side dots are very hard to see... I have vinyl dots stuck on mine.

It's only 140W into 8R from memory, true, but the built in compression makes up for a fair bit of lost headroom.

I'd buy a Trace Elliot Elf as a stopgap - if budget allows. Cheap and it gives you a genuine emergency amp you can keep hidden in the car. Perfectly gig-worthy and gives you the time to try things before you decide on what should be your main amp.

If you expect to change pickups, get a Squier 40th Anniversary (if you can find one). If you want a vintage 60s sound you won't need to change a thing.

I've had this a couple of times. Not mains shock, but a lip tingle - being moist and crammed with receptor cells the lips are very sensitive to static and fairly low potentials. These days a cause can be double-insulated gear 'floating' above ground, one cause can be both ends of a signal chain with a ground lift perhaps made worse by leakage across ans SMPSU. Double insulated chargers can do this. So perhaps start by checking the mic's ground is continuous with earth.

Have you tried WinISD as mentioned above? It's a bit non-intuitive if you don't know all the terms but I've managed to get it to work, so if you've used other cab software you should find it easy enough.
