Well was able to unwind the amp/cab combination tonight. Two rehearsals with two bands in a week, and loads of positive comments on the sound.

It's a Glenn Hughes signature model.

I am pretty sure a mashup of Mr Wendel and Steppenwolf (song not band) would work. He walks alone in the gaslamp shadows Dressed somberly as a man. Mr Wendel.

The obvious answers are: Taper the spacer, unlikely to work even if the pickup to neck distance is large and only one pickup. Pad out neck pocket. Cut body in half cross-wise and have a step in its shape. Use different pickup. Use different neck. Pickup cover.

A mate tried to sell me an 8x10 earlier. I said 'I have a 2x12 that's probably louder than the 8x10." 🤣

I'm sure this is true. I use thumb placement to change my tone, and I can get as much variation between bridge and bottom of the neck as between pickups.

On the E-string the movement is almost perfectly cancelled out by the change in intonation. Personally, I think it's a mistake to assume different is better.

That makes me feel all squidgy inside, like a teenage me talking to a girl...

LOL! I've got jack sockets from the 70s somewhere that use that sort of contact arrangement. I would be surprised if they weren't 10-20 years old when I got them.

I've got the AT212 slim, it's incredible. That's why if I get another small cab it's ideally REALLY small.

Got to be red 🙂 Plus in this era of 24 hour rather than 28 day delivery I fancy the idea of delayed gratification. The alternative is a custom green GR AT110, which would cost twice as much, but is a zero risk option.

The prices they achieve are ridiculous considering the quality and playability. Less than a MIJ Squier P-bass of the same era.

I've ordered a red one, it will be about five weeks 😞 With a main loud, light cab/head setup that will do almost anything, this is just an excuse to turn my backup Elf amp into a grab and go. If it doesn't work out, I'll get a GR 110 instead.

I'm needing a decent bag to take all my bits and pieces.
