  1. I did think of 'Imprecision Bass' but technically I'd argue a 'Precision Bass' as any one with frets... 🙂 Trouble is that's very rude in Welsh... I feel a bit guilty about 'made by me' as aside from shaping the headtock it's just painting and screwing the bits together...
  2. Ammon Duul II are a band I have been meaning to follow up since the 80s....
  3. More logo thoughts (all my other builds/butcheries have been 'Deathburgers').
  4. I'm more worried about blending the headstock into the neck which is pre-coated in a matt finish and doesn't require further treatment. The instructions say "Remove the neck and all the frets cleanly before you start painting". I suspect they mean 'mask off'... I may try and spray just the headstock and 'feather in' as I like a satin neck finish. Sprays from Northwest guitars due to arrive tomorrow. I've bought a sheet to make a 'spray booth' but I have to use it as a photography backdrop for a few things this week first!
  5. I just found this. Two pensioners making random silly noises for a quarter of an hour. It's mind-blowingly brilliant.
  6. " The song ‘Holy Diver’ is really about a Christ-figure, who on another place, not Earth, has done exactly the same as we’ve apparently experienced or were supposed to have experienced on Earth: dying for the sins of man so that man can start again and be cleansed and do it properly. So, the same thing happened on this other far-distant planet, and all the people on this planet are calling him the Holy Diver because he’s about to go to another world to do what he did to the first: absolve them from their sins by having himself killed. And the people are saying to him, ‘Don’t go,’ with innuendos of tigers and stripes and hearts and being eaten. It was meant to show just how selfish humanity is, that this one form of humanity on this one world said, ‘No, don’t go down there and save anybody else. Stay here, we need you, you are ours. " So that''s all clear then?
  7. The only one I can find* is a Midnight Black but as its 'made in Japan' it's clearly 60s-style not original. *Gogle image search for "60s fender precision bass"
  8. Maybe but aside from Sly Stone I don't see much of merit... Why is it when drawing people for album covers so many artists seem unable to give them any feeling of depth? It can be done, look at a Judge Dredd strip or an early Iron Maiden cover. Or Molly Hatchet's first album.
  9. Why is so much album art so utterly, indescribably bad?
  10. Outrageous suggestion! Dio always researched his lyrics in detail! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonbow
  11. But it isn't. Not by any civilised measure of 'untidy'!
  12. I m,eant 50s, but how many 50/60s Fenders have painted headstocks?
  13. My only regret is not replying at length to each of Scott's emails. 🙂
  14. If the cover wasn't textured it would be a dead ringer for the J pickup on my Jag SS.
  15. My ears are fairly indiscriminate, it may just be that its the only one that stands out or perhaps its that I'm a sucker for any pedal that growls. I must ask... why do you have so many? It';s an odd thing to collect. I was wondering if you daisy chain them to play music to whales or bats?
  16. I can't see the numbers, but the one at the left sounds much warmer and richer that the others.
  17. Our rehearsal space would give us vastly more social distancing than a pub....
  18. One way is to damp the surface with water with a little detergent in it. It does mean you have to wait for it to dry out.
  19. Unlikely, I want a 60's vibe.
  20. Indeed, and a pub I used to occasionally visit in Aberystwyth in the early 80s. But it's also Billy Talbot's surname 🙂
  21. After much agonising, I saw a picture of a daphne blue p-bass,remembered my GAS for a daphne blue '60s Jazz that I don't need. So I've just hit the button on Daphne blue from Northwest guitars
  22. You'll have to excuse Spondz. Ever since the 'is that a kazoo in your pocket?' incident he's had a bit of an anxiety complex about shewees...
  23. Always good to see a band having fun. Love teh guitarist synching his bouncing with the backing singers.
  24. That's├probably convinced me to go Daphne blue for my new build.
  25. That's what workshops are for. Making workshop equipment.
