  1. They get less conservative at night. The Long Player and Phil Alexander are pretty eclectic at times. In any case, where else can you tune in with a decent chance of hearing the Pink Fairies, Alex Harvey or the whole of Stargazer?
  2. I have no desire to be one of those sad men who tries to make out women oppress men, but I do agree with this. It happens regularly on Radio 4, on the New Quiz a panellist was going on about Kier Starmer, if instead one of the male panellists had said the same about one of the female candidates there would have been uproar. You can't really get past 'two wrongs make a right' if you try to justify this.
  3. A rounded blade is best, takes off very small amounts.
  4. I've done my own anodising. Anodised colour with decals could look good.
  5. I'd be more worried about the blast effect pushing the crowd back out the door...
  6. Well just listened to a recording from 1995, and I can't remember all the bassline.
  7. Now I've scrolled to the bottom of the page... what was the question? Not too bad actually, some things stick in my mind from the band I was in up to '89. Anything iffy benefits from a play through the day before to get it 'refreshed'.
  8. Kingston Town, UB40. So gentle, it's the warm bath of bass lines.
  9. Let me correct that for you, Blue... 🤣
  10. Of course if you'd like to bring an 18" TE cab and take away a 15" Peavey one?
  11. Come on, we can have a WCPS stand, complete with Jama tasting and a (waterproof) box for donations to Dr Mondeaux...
  12. I suspect the 50Plus was proper amp, I recall the Cobra 90 as being much better than the 50B.
  13. 1. @Frank Blank’s (mostly) Acoustic Corner - Godin A4, fretless Rob Allen Mouse, ACG Harlot SC, Ibanez SRC6. QSC K12.2, Helix Stomp. 2. @jebroad Dingwall, Squire silver jazz, schecter fiver, ashdown 8x10, whatever heads I can dig out 3. 4. 5. y. @Teebs Hinnocent 7. @Stub Mandrel's (Naughty Jama Corner) - Fender Flea bass, Fender performer plus surprise guest bass(es), Trace Elliot GP11 Mk. 11 1110 Combo, Joyo XVI
  14. AC/DC write a song with lyrics aimed at grown ups.
  15. Cheapest option is sewing machine oil, a very pure, thin mineral oil which is what (instrument) lemon oil is before they contaminate it with lemon extract. That said, I've invested in some Dunlop oil because I like the smell. 🤣
  16. Don't know but our definition of soul seems to be pretty wide and several of the songs originally had stand up bass or fretless and things like Sitting on the Dock of the Bay seem to work well on one. We'll see, first gig in a month.
