  1. Probably a good idea as you have to soften the old glue soaked into the back of the tolex. I'd also peel the tolex back to get a bigger new surface to spread the glue on.
  2. +1 for this. I did one and now the 'Grizzly Beers' are presently engaged in expanding our set list up to about 2 hours from the 40 minutes we originally did 🙂 The discipline of learning about 15 songs (e.n. route to whittling down to 9) was incredibly good for getting me back into playing properly.
  3. MNaybe it's a bit niche, but how about a hollow body 24-fret SS bass/mandolin twin neck.
  4. I've yet to find a product that's cheaper on Prime than not. I did the 30 day free trial when I wanted something with expensive shipping, rapidly discovered it was cheaper to buy stuff and pay shipping instead of paying prime prices, so I baled after a week or two. I hate the tricksy checkout procedures that make multiple attempts to get you to click on prime delivery. As bad as Paypal periodically replacing the next button with one that turns on one-click pay.
  5. I know an importer who told me a story he claimed came direct from the seller: This guy sold a product that was only available from overseas from one supplier and knew he was the only person selling it in the UK. His modest stock was kept by you-know-who who also dealt with fuilfillment. He was doing well, but then people were finding people couldn't get his product because it was 'out of stock'. Turned out YKW's algorithms had detected his stock was selling well, so they undercut him - and fulfilled their orders from his stock while waiting for their own to arrive. Of course when his stock was replenished, he couldn't sell it at a profit because YKW were undercutting him...
  6. Seven Nation Army - White Stripes?
  7. Especially Bobby Farrel's interpretive dance...
  8. I thought that was Rasputin, or Ma Baker ...
  9. Used the Westone for a two-hour band practice last night. By gum, it really does sound more like a Precision than a Precision - it growls, it roars... Found it easier to play 'in anger' than sitting down at home. Two potential downsides (1) Don't get one of these if you like lightweight basses! (2) It is a bit quite prone to feedback when used with a fuzz.
  10. Damn, I got that one... too late.
  11. When I was a kid we thought it was hilarious to say "This is oxygum - we put it up our bottoms so we can fat underwater". Ah, the joys of youth...
  12. I think that he had just two goons, they just moved around a lot to create the illusion of '000s...
  13. Agreed, valves are like lightbulbs. The thermal shock of switching on is more severe than metal loss while running, so the more you switch the heaters on and off teh shorter the valve life.
  14. He's a hypocrite who has just had a massive cull to finance a '62 SG junior!
  15. In about 5 minutes the Stonehouse Collective in Risca Locomotion Inn.
  16. Now my brother is trying to make me buy this. He says six isn't enough.
  17. I actually went as far as playing KoC and decided it wasn't it... Suck My Kiss - RHCP?
  18. The risk is that this could stretch it further. Squeezing it forces the mesh pattern to distort slightly to accommodate the stretching that's already taken place, but it's not going to be 100% perfect any way you do it.
  19. Now that's what live TV music should be like. And the Big YIn too!

  21. No 🙂 Think about the difference between 'getting A stick' and 'getting SOME stick'.
