I got 87dBa at 40hz. A calculator says that's 121.5dB. The at212 is 109dB/W That would be about 11W. Trouble is 50W would oy be about 125dB, so the margins for error are quite big. I would say loud enough to gig.

Just tried my 50W Joyo BadAss through my AT212 Slim (4 ohm). 93 dB at a metre, without noticeable distortion. A weighted.

It's very dangerous to go into a music shop and try out 'budget' instruments because sometimes you find one that just presses all the right buttons. And when they are relatively cheap it's hard to say no... -
Someone in Ukraine has loads of weird eastern European basses on ebay right now.

Played a private party. Singer created some novel song arrangements. Did more bvs than usual, discovered I can play merry Christmas everybody and sing it, (at the same time) which is s major personal achievement!

They are nice and I enjoy playing them which encourages me to play more which is good for me in many ways. Fundamentally they bring me pleasure.

Thomann tweed case, because you're worth it 😍 -
For the blues rock band we are going to do Merry Christmas Everybody because although it's not bluesy it's musically interesting and it fits our sound. We're also going to do Canned Heat's Christmas Blues which feels up-tempo even though it's a bit of a plod and plenty of room top extemporise : Covers band it's Slade (nice, two birds etc.) and oddly they have chosen to add Wake me Up by Avicii which has apparently been described as a 'summer anthem'. A bit like September, although that's probably the ultimate 'more than the sum of its parts' song!

Don't pubs do great posters...

After relearning Merry Christmas Everybody, heard Cûm On Feel the Noize on the radio. Jim Lea's bass sound is wonderful and despite just being a fairly simple line his immaculate phrasing and feel just makes it roll along and feel really melodic. He really is oustanding. Just one word of advice... take care typing "cûm on feel the" into Google...

My car was £800, but that was in early 2030. Value of gear is scary if you add it up. Two hard cases, two straps, two tuners, two leads and two stands is north of the value of the car these days! Forget two basses, two amps and a cab. Then add on my small piece of carpet!

Thomann are using dhl these days. Got an SM58, joyo amp and a tweed case last week, within 6 days of ordering. -
Not huge numbers in last night, but a good reception and ended up doing three encores. Before we started a punter came up who recognisedme from a gig with the other band a week before ... and in spoons afterwards a few folk came up to say it was agood gig 😎 autographs anyone? 🤣

Do singers have a Voxbash? I imagine forty of them having a dead serious SM58 shootout.

4 ohm GR Bass AT212. Light as most 2x10, loud as a 4x10, great sound, no shortage of volume, just turn down if required.
