  1. Seems you may be right. The new amp behaves differently and the switch just adds protection into 4R. Glad I got a 4 ohm 2x12. Otherwise i would have to buy another 🤣
  2. Fwiw I have a 500W OBT into an 800w rated cab. I tried turning it up loud, but it got scary... rather like doing the ton downhill in my old Morris Marina.
  3. Yes, the 4/8 switch changes the output voltage level to give 500w into either impedance.
  4. Its far too good for the price, looks smashing andbplays well. Not a perfect copy. Will raise the pups to increase output and adjust intonation and I'm happy that will gave it gig ready l. Action is low and buzz free, nut is cut well. Nice touch is thin satin varnish on neck, nice looking bit of maple. Another is the six bolt neck fixing. For the silly price it's a no-brainer that doesn’t need any parts swapping out, except I might replace one of the volumes with a serial-single coil-parallel rotary to get closer to the MM options.
  5. I try to rotate, but whatever is new tends to get attention. The Flea Jazz is the most frequent occupier of the stand by my desk, but recently the Performer has got a lot of attention.
  6. Go and feast on your feeelthy sprouts instead!
  7. My concern was that it doesn't end up surrounded by acoustic wadding.
  8. Make sure the resistor is mounted so air can move freely around it.
  9. It would be cool to anodises the fret lines in groovy colours... however in situ anodising could be difficult, requiring the neck to be in a bath co sulphuric acid. Is it possible they could be safely removed and re-inserted?
  10. Maybe a green one? Anyway it's mostly, so I can fit a scratchplate to it and prove my point 🙂
  11. Given his, ahem, generous collection, I'm sure the Doctor could spare one for you?
  12. I think strong colours, good finishes and distinctive without being wacky designs are a good base to work from. There is a real gap for a UK manufacturer addressing the 'affordable but not cheap' market. What you need most of all is visibility beyond us lot. I'd be sending an offer of a sponsor deal to a few emerging dinstinctively british bands. Wet Leg?
  13. The reality of this has been underlined for me by the way my TE 4x10 combo reacts to being close to a wall ... the amount of bottom end becomes huge, too huge.
  14. Eliza Holt very memorable live, good song to make a strong first impression.
  15. I find I am using my hotone nano into my PJB C5. Kind of odd combination of chesp and cheerful and not cheap bug still cheerful! Sound is remarkably good even at low volume.
