  1. I've used 90s and 100s. They encourage a delicate touch but I tend towards 105s or even 110s most of the time.
  2. Have you tried winding the mid-control down? I thought it gives a fair representation, if not perfect. Personally, I use my 'classic' TE combo with the pre-shape switched out or playing at the dusty end is mostly inaudible.
  3. I like the blue/green best by a narrow margin. Those knobs look a bit magenta...
  4. It's my favourite bassline for trying out basses and amps. Covers all the main range and really lets you dig in.
  5. Merry Xmas everybode has been added to the setlist.
  6. Interesting, I find the g string often sounds 'light'. One of the best things about my flea jazz is that it sounds exceptionally even across the strings.
  7. I think you'll find it's the other way around. The physical strength and aggression of males probably follows afrom a role in hunting versus nurturing and child raising. Women probably should be leaders not men. Lets face it, most women leaders in history have been at least reasonably successful
  8. Exactly, and lots of musical signalling, leading into changes etc. If you want to be loose and improvisational it takes a degree of discipline 😉
  9. One of the bands I'm in I was told 'we don't count bars'. Ironically, this seems to make us tighter. But it all dependswhat you're trying to achieve.
  10. Blast from the past! Didn't realise Mitch was on that.
  11. I am confused. I play weather with you as per the original. But he actually complimented my take on Don't Dream It's Over which we play down a few semitones making it hard to do as per original.
  12. At 12" centres thefirstfully out of phase "dead spot" will be at 1000 hz at 90 degrees to the speakers. For a spread of 490 degrees, 45 degrees either side of centre the lowest frequency affected will be 1500hz. For a typical 4×10 the lowest frequency affected is nearer to 1000hz assuming a 45 degree either side of straight on useful coverage. That's three times the highest note of a typical 20-fret bass (E three octaves above the lowest note, 320hz). Obviously the harmonics can be affected but the real world impact of side by side speakers on bass is exaggeratedin my view. For guitar or vocals I can see it's worse, or for PA with bins either side if the stage. But I think room acoustics will overwhelf such effects in practical situations. I now await Bill telling me I am wro g and no dubt part of the reason will be off axis interference effects will have a modest effect even when the teo signals are not fully out of phase.
  13. Just make Stew feel really bad, today Paul the guitarist said my playing on Weather With You made the song 😎
