Hi - couldn't find a feedback thread, so started one off. Met up with grumble today & sold him a bass. Great guy to deal with & would definitely trade with him again. Hope you had a good day out - enjoy your new basses! Cheers, B.

Hi JTUK - the custom stuff's a bit out of my budget, so it's the cheaper Korean soapbars I'm trying to find some soundclips for. Cheers, B. -
Sold Matt an Aria bass today. Great guy to deal with - really straightforward transaction & we had a good chat about basses too. Enjoy it! Cheers, B.

Kent Armstrong Soapbar Pickup: any opinions/experience?

Does anyone have any sound clips of these in action please? Thinking of using a pair of them on a project & really want to hear them in action... Cheers, B. -
right then - one bridge about to be ordered. thanks so much for all your help.
No probs - enjoy!
just what i was thinking where did you get your scratchplate made ? btw - that link you posted - is that the exact model you bought ? i'm after the dimensions and hole spacing. thanks.
I'd drop the Bass Doc a PM about the plate - he made me one recently for another bass & it's great! That was the bridge I bought - I think it's a copy of the Gotoh 301. The Westone bridge screw holes at the back are Fender spacing this bridge covers over the two non-standard holes at the front. Cheers, B.
i was wondering about a gotoh - i've got one on another of my basses and like them a lot, but they are pricey...so thanks for the tip. now...black or silver ?
The chrome one looks good on mine. If you're into black then it would be worth having a 3-ply scratchplate made up - I did & it looks great!
thanks i'm in two minds about the bridge - get a beefier one to help with the weight of the neck, or keep it old skool.
I swapped the original out for a cheap Gotoh copy from eBay & it was a big improvement - perfect fit & much more solid.

If it's the one I think it was then you grabbed yourself a bargain! Have a few parts from an old Concord, so give me a PM if you want an original bridge... Cheers, B.

Be careful with bookings on Interparcel this week....
benebass replied to Musicman20's topic in General Discussion
City Link...in Newcastle.
Their 'Newcastle' depot is in Wardley (halfway to Sunderland) & seems to be very short-staffed. Went there once to pick up a parcel & the queue was out the door for the half hour I waited - there only seemed to be one young lad in the place who looked stressed to bits trying to deal with everything. Obviously it's a competitive game, but looks like they've tried to cut costs a bit too much recently & service has gone down the pan. Hope they sort it out for you... Cheers, B. -

Hi - another instrument up for grabs. This is a De Armond Jetstar Special guitar in cherry red. The SG meets Jazzmaster look isn't something you see every day! This is the budget version of the De Armond that I think was made in Indonesia in the late '90s. Bolt on neck & two (surprisingly crunchy) humbuckers - pretty good condition & plays really well with a nice low action. Selling it as I don't really play guitar & I think this deserves to be played... I'm looking for £80 cash collected from Newcastle upon Tyne. Cheers, B.

Hi - I'm not using my Line 6 Studio 110 any more so I'm looking to sell it for £80 collected from Newcastle upon Tyne. I bought it on here a while ago & it's been a really useful amp for in the house, but I recently bought another amp so it's not being used. They tend to retail for just under £200 new & they allow you to model the following: - Clean Inspired by* the Eden Traveler, this model is all about clean, funk and fusion bass tone. It’ll give you all the warm lows and punchy highs you need R&B Inspired by* a 1968 B-15 Flip Top, this model is a tribute to those late 60’s and early 70’s clean fat bass tones. It is the kind of tone you hear on most Motown recordings, as played by a pioneering young James Jamerson. Rock This model is inspired by* the ’74 Ampeg® SVT®. This workhorse has appeared on innumerable recordings and arena stages worldwide. And now all the tone of the 300-pound behemoth 8X10 and head is available in your combo! Grind As the name would suggest, this is for modern rock lovers, Alice in Chains to Mudvayne and Rage Against The Machine. Based on* a distorted SansAmp PSA-1 into an SVT® in addition to a direct clean bass signal mixed in, this model gives you that angry, clear and punchy aggression that takes your sound to DEFCON 1. Spec. etc. is at http://line6.com/lowdownstudio110/ Cheers, B.

Hi - another one of my basses up for grabs. This one's an Aria Pro II CSB-300 Cardinal bass that has been defretted. I bought it off here a while ago & since I've had it I had the board professionally re-radiused & set up. It's currently strung with Status halfwound / groundwound strings & plays really well. No major issues, although the pots are a little bit crackly. It comes with a hard case & the original guarantee card - it was bought in 1981 in San Francisco. I'm looking for £120 collected from Newcastle upon Tyne - might be able to sort out a postal deal on this one if you're interested...
